Rhea had a terrible splitting headache in fact her entire body seemed to be in pain and she felt like she was floating on clouds without being able to hold on to anything she was distressed.

After an entire lifetime of grievances and pain, she couldn’t even get to be happy in the afterlife she grumbled internally struggling to force her eyes open and when she finally got it open she sighed in relief ‘at least I’m not a blind ghost’ she thought and looked at her surroundings taking in the double decked bed and bedside study tables by the wall in the room.

It seemed all too familiar to her as she tried to come to terms with what just happened ‘this can’t be what the afterworld looks like’ she mumbled trying to know why this place seemed so familiar like somewhere on earth, which was the last place she should be right now.

Nancy and Daniel had made sure of that.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the door opening and she fixed her eyes on the door to see who would come in and her eyes opened widely in shock and fear at the sight of Nancy coming in with a wide smile ‘is Nancy dead too’ she wondered surprised to see her there “why are you so surprised to see me Rhea?” she said, taking in Rhea’s expressions.

Rhea wanted to give a sarcastic reply but paused, why does Nancy look so much younger and why is she in a uniform that looked so much like their high school uniform? She thought a premonition arising in her heart but before she could find a suitable reply for the question that Nancy asked, Nancy continued “you missed the first period but I already informed Mr James about your stomach upset and he was quite understanding so you just have to get ready for the remaining classes we have today” she said all in one breath. “That is if you already feel well enough” she added as an afterthought.

Rhea had a shocking premonition in her mind and she climbed down from the bed and walked to the full length mirror they placed in the room to take in her appearance and she saw just what she could have been almost certain she would see, this was her appearance 10 years ago while she was still in high school and she could see that it was her final year since that was only the year that boarding was mandatory and Nancy had been her roommate and best friend.

And she remembered she had been excited that she finally got to stay away from that house that harboured her partial mother and sister.

She caught herself before her thoughts drifted too far with a quick sweep of her white skin with a rosy touch on her cheeks and slim figure in the mirror she moved away from the mirror and faced Nancy and didn’t miss the jealousy that Nancy hurried to hide from her eyes and drew her in for a hug “ thank you Nannan, nobody else loves me like you” she told her and pulled away from the hug showing a cute pout on her face as Nancy smiled widely with a quick look of accomplishment flashing past her eyes “now hurry and get dressed so we don’t miss the other class it’s our finals and every class is important” she said as she pushed Ana forward towards their bathroom.

Their room was a dormitory for two female students and only the top ten senior class students had access to this while the other students had to stay in a four per person room.

As Rhea turned on the shower for a quick bath she allowed her thoughts to run as widely as it could she didn’t want to believe that instead of dying she had returned to her 18 year old self, that seemed too surreal seeing as she had really felt her last breath leaving this same body in an older form after being tortured by Nancy and Daniel for up to a week while the whole world thought she had been missing or dead.

But she knew there was no explanation for this situation other than her having experienced rebirth ‘but wasn’t that a thing from novels and movies, since when did it apply to everyday life’ she sighed and turned off the shower before Nancy wondered why she was taking so long in the shower, she was determined to not let her notice anything amiss until she was sure of what was going on exactly, with this Rhea put her thoughts aside and headed out to dress up for the remaining classes of the day she was a top student and she didn’t want anything tampering with her records, ‘if this is another life, I better live it well to thank the heavens’ she thought.

Both she and Nancy proceeded to class, their school was quite large as it was one of the most prestigious in their country so it took them quite a while to arrive in the classroom section.

As soon as they got to their class a lot of students greeted Rhea and asked why she wasn’t around for Art class “I had a stomach upset” she explained to all the concerned people most of them being guys. Rhea was regarded as the class goddess with her outstanding and elegant beauty matched with her brain that was unrivalled in the whole school so a lot of guys enjoyed talking to her and being around her which brought a little envy and jealousy from some girls while the majority still liked Rhea regardless.

“Didn’t you tell Mr James I had a stomach upset? Why doesn’t the whole class know about this” Rhea asked as she and Nancy sat down on their seats.

She remembered this scene too well as the same had happened in her past life, Nancy had told her the same story leaving out the part that Mr James had held a test while she told Mr James that Ana had decided to skip his class because she said she knew more than him already.

Mr James had felt insulted and furious and didn’t even think to call her while also telling other teachers to change their view of her, not only that, he had also given her a hard time in the examination causing her overall score to drop “Oh! Mr James had called me personally to ask after his class as he was concerned about his best student” she replied while Ana nodded her head in return, she wasn’t surprised at the answer as Nancy was really good at this game she had fooled her completely in her past life till she led Ana to an early grave she had no suspicion that her best friend whom she loved and always sacrificed so much for was such an evil person behind all these fake smiles.
