'Are you out of your mind?' Gaius asked Fred, adjusting his position against his car; he had just held on to the door handle to let himself in and drive off when Fred showed up with his inappropriate suggestion. 'Are you trying to catch these hands, I have not forgotten how to throw them' Gaius told Fred, taking off his glasses to look his friend in the eye.

'I'm just saying; it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, you might not want to let this go so easily' Fred explained;

'And you? you're eligible to be nominated, why are you handing it to me? what about you?'Gaius asked;

'Oh, come on' Fred said, waving off Gaius' suggestion; you know I don't stand a chance compared to the rest of the members that will go at this offer; the closest I can get to being VP is you; I over heard Tesco and his minions celebrating the fact that you are not qualified because 'you can't manage to handle your loins over flowing into every cunt you admired'; 'in his exact words' Fred said when Gaius shot him an annoyed look; 'it means they see you as a worthy threat, you have to take this chance, this is every members dream' Fred cajoled Gaius;

'Oh they can have it please, what on earth Fred not today, it's too early; I ain't getting married for the life of me' Gaius said, gesturing to go into his car; 'see you later, and don't bring up this shit again, if not i'm filing a restraining order against your ass' he turned back to say to Fred, before hopping in his 3067 FORD HYBRID and zooming away.

'Fuck you too' Fred whispered while Gaius drove off, leaving him standing there like a donkey;

'What's up Freddy, maybe you should get married to him so he can be eligible, you know you're already always kissing his ass anyway' Tesco walked past Fred with his 'minions' as Fred often called them, teasing him. Fred shook his head and walked across the parking lot to his car and was soon on his way out of the Dynasty complex like everyone else.

It was almost 8:30 AM; the Dynasty usually held their meetings form 6 AM to 8 AM; they never went passed the 8 AM mark, if they had an agenda still hanging, they would adjourn the meeting till the next day or whenever other day they decided on; they did this to enhance their decision making; the earlier they met in the day, the clearer their thoughts were; only on very rare occasions were they had an emergency did they ever meet impromptu.

Gaius drove to the office; he was usually earlier than he turned up that day, but of course, the Dynasty came first, and the entirety of his employees knew he must have been somewhere important to not show up to work before 7 AM.

'Morning boss' his personal assistant, Lucas greeted him. Lucas was Brazilian, with long dark hair and a straight nose; his features were so perfect even up to his always manicured fingers that he was rumored to be Gaius' boyfriend, considering the fact that Gaius wasn't married, and Lucas wasn't either, and was always with him; if he wasn't with Gaius at the moment, you just had to wait a little bit longer and he would surely show up within the hour; except when Gaius was at the Dynasty complex; Lucas had a tracker to always know were Gaius was; it didn't matter how private the location Gaius was at, Lucas always knew; he might stay away, but you could bet a million dollars that he knew were Gaius was every time until he lay to sleep at night.

'Lucas, what's on my itinerary, any appointments?' Gaius asked, heading into the office complex and nodding in reply to greetings from other employees;

'Yes, the representative from the new space station at Hermin; she arrived in the country last night; she would be here in an hour to confirm the deal and sign the contract with you; then, your friend Fred called me just before you showed up, said he's on his way here; also...'

'Wait what? Fred said he's coming here? I was with him less than twenty minutes ago' Gaius interrupted Lucas. Lucas frowned defensively at how irritated Gaius looked when he mentioned Fred; they were best friends, Fred always came around the office, so why was Gaius pissed this time around? Lucas wondered;

'You okay Gai?' Lucas asked; he always called his boss Gai; more reason why everyone thought they were dating;

'Yes, i'm good, it's just; I know why he's coming here after such short interval of seeing him; does he not have stuff to do at work?, what the fuck wrong with that guy, trying to piss me off?' Gaius said;

'Why is he coming over then?' Lucas asked chuckling; he had witnessed several times when the two best friends argued with each other; another argument was brewing, and he was available to video them and update his collection of embarrassing moments of Gaius. Lucas had a catalog of his boss, every emotion he had ever felt he had it all in tape and played it during his birthday party every year, Gaius was about to grace him with yet another episode that year.

'He's trying to convince me to get married' Gaius said, keeping a straight face at Lucas. 'Anyway, any other business?' Gaius continued without waiting on Lucas to make a reaction;

'Nothing much, we are testing CLARIEN today, the engineers made some finishing touches on her all through the night, they would be here at mid day to test her; that's all Gai; it's Friday so there's nothing much on your plate' Lucas replied, deliberately ignoring Gaius' complain about Fred, he knew that was a no go area for Gaius, he was way too sensitive concerning the marriage topic.

'Fine' Gaius said, settling into his seat in his office; 'I wish I could tell the security to throw Fred out when he shows up'
