Chapter 11 Burning Money

"You wanna give me money? Come over."

Hailey suddenly lifted her head, smiled broadly, and crooked her slender fingers at the man.

Tantalized by her smile, Joshua grinned and came up.

Hailey suddenly arched her brow, grabbed his outstretched arm, exerted strength, and gave him a neat arm-trap suplex.

He couldn't feel his arm when his body swirled in mid-air. Then his waist fell heavily on the ground.

"Keep the money for your medical care."

She then kicked the man in a certain spot.

Joshua passed out without groaning.

After dealing with the annoying man, she turned around and headed back to her room.

Before entering the door, she bumped into Eliza. In a hurry, she lowered her head and avoided her eyes with feigned cowardice.

Eliza froze to see her unscathed.

Joshua finished the job so soon? She hadn't watched the fun yet.

Hailey's eyes captured her expressions. It was not hard for her to associate Eliza's hostility with the man who came out of nowhere.

"Hailey, what are you doing here alone?" Eliza asked with concern.

"I was a little tired and out for some fresh air. Now I'm going back to my room." Hailey answered in a distant tone and kept her eyes low.

Eliza looked at her contemptuously. This silly village girl was such an eyesore.

As Hailey turned to leave, she called out.

"Eh, wait, Hailey, have you seen Joshua? The banquet is over, and Mrs. Ford is leaving, but Joshua is nowhere to be seen."

Eliza gazed at Hailey, but the latter was as expressionless as a stone. Even so, her face was stunning and her temperament reserved.

Eliza simmered with rage.

"Oh, I saw a shadow just now." Hailey pointed in a random direction.

Eliza didn't doubt it. Deep down, she scolded the idiot who failed to find Hailey in such a small garden.

In a huff, she hobbled her way forward in the direction pointed by Hailey.

The corner of Hailey's curved up in a faint sneer. Sneakily, she followed Eliza and knocked her out from behind...

The banquet continued in the hall.

Whoosh... boom...

A brilliant firework bloomed in the sky.

"Dad, this is a birthday gift from my sister and brother-in-law."

Jack's sister, Josie Anderson, was William's youngest daughter. Josie married the eldest son of the Torres Family. Seriously ill, the old lady of the Torres Family sought medical treatment in Country M, and Josie had been taking care of her. Because of that, she couldn't make it to William's birthday party.

"Josie always likes such fancy things, but I'm not a child." William disapproved, but his face gave away his pride.

One thing he was most proud of was that Josie married into the Torres Family.

"William, you are so blessed to have such filial children." Those around him flattered immediately.

"Dad, let's watch it outside."

"Good, on such a happy occasion, I should go out for a look. It's a token of their regard after all."

William got up with a smile and led everyone to the garden to watch the fireworks.

Boom...

The fireworks with various patterns bloomed in the sky one after another.

"These fireworks are amazing. Mr. Warner does not design them, are they?"

"This is such an eye-opener. It's like burning money."
