Chapter 4 Every Member of Her Family Is Dog

In the presence of the maids, Hailey didn't move.

"Leilani, is this how you do your job? You just let a swine get near the table?" A mad Eliza snarled.

"Miss, I've told the lady about the rules, but she wouldn't listen." In fact, she didn't say anything.

"Humph! Shameless, you're just like your cheap mother! What are you looking at? I'll gouge your eyes out! Get out of my face!" Eliza shouted abuse.

Hailey stood up. Her hand swept past the table and got a fishbone.

As she cowered aside, Eliza gloated, snorted with her head high, and walked to the seat. All of a sudden, a pricking pain came from her knee, and she stepped on the soup.

Flop...

She slipped and fell on her knees right in front of Hailey.

"Ah..."

"Miss..."

Eliza cried in pain and collapsed on the floor. The size of a nail cap, a broken piece of the bowl pierced the skin of her calf, and blood instantly gushed out.

The maids hurriedly helped her up and sent her to the hospital.

The dining room quieted down. All alone, Hailey sat back down and continued with her lunch.

She had another bowl of bird's nest soup. Eliza was correct about one thing. She indeed hadn't had this kind of swallow's nest before. Back on the island, she used to have swiftlet's nests picked up from the cliffs.

After lunch, she quietly went back to her room and stayed there all afternoon. At six o'clock, Amaya and Eliza came back together.

The wound in Eliza's leg was not deep, and the broken piece had been removed. It was painful but not serious. She would recover in a couple of days.

At seven o'clock, Hailey was summoned to the dining room.

A hearty dinner was served on the table. Hailey took a glance and saw all kinds of delicacies like abalones and lobsters.

The Anderson Group was going bankrupt, but they still had feasts every day.

Hailey walked to the dining table and saw a white-headed senior in the seat of honor. Without a doubt, he should be William, the patriarch of the Anderson Family. The middle-aged man should be her uncle, Jack.

At that moment, both men looked angry. Sure enough, Eliza complained about her.

"Grandpa, uncle." Hailey greeted them in a low voice, immediately lowered her head, and laid her eyes on her toes.

William took a cold glance at the timid and frumpy girl. He didn't like her, but she was good-looking. Presumably, the Coxs would be satisfied.

A capital injection of 20 million yuan could be expected, and his face softened a bit.

Amaya took the lead to question her, "Hailey, what happened today? Why did you shove Eliza to the floor? Don't you know how dangerous it is? Luckily, the broken piece was not big enough to hurt the tendons. She could be paralyzed."

Amaya deliberately played up the matter.

Hailey lifted her head, her eyes brimming with tears. Full of grievances, she looked at William, "Grandpa, I want to go back to the fishing village. I'm lonely and scared here."

William certainly would not let her go back.

"What? I went through all the trouble to bring you here, and you're going back? How will people see our family? Have you no respect for your grandfather?" William sulked. Reputation was something he cared about the most.

"Grandpa, I'm sorry, but Eliza doesn't like me. At lunch, she claimed that I was not worthy of eating at the table. She smashed my bowl and asked me to eat on the floor. She called my family dogs and me!" She sobbed.
