Chapter 16 Snoop, Husband's Right

After taking their seats, Jennifer looked at her sister and asked seriously, "Aren't you busy today?"

"I am! But Ethan and you got your marriage certificate today, so no matter how busy I am, I should come!" Daphne answered with a smile, but her phone suddenly rang, "Sis, I should answer this!"

"Sure, go ahead!" Jennifer nodded her head.

After Daphne left, she looked at Ethan. Apparently... he told her sister about this.

Ethan read her mind and explained, "You don't want the outsiders to know, but Daphne is your sister and family."

"But..." She didn't really want her sister to know.

Once Daphne knew, she would have to maintain her happy image after marriage.

Therefore, her sister would not be worried or suspect that her marriage was a result of coercion and a deal!

Now her plan was compromised.

"Daphne is focusing on her career, and I don't want to distract her!" Jennifer eventually found herself an excuse.

Ethan's cold voice came out, "Will our marriage influence her career? Your friend Wesley knows about this. Why can't your sister know?"

His questions instantly rendered her speechless.

When Jennifer came back to her senses, she realized something, "You snooped on my phone?"

"Not snoop, just a glance, and I happen to remember it." Ethan sounded righteous, "What's more, you are my wife now. It's reasonable that I check a little bit and prevent bad guys from stealing you away."

Fine! When Mr. Moore was playing the rogue, he had a thousand reasons.

And... he sounded righteous and reasonable.

Jennifer held her forehead helplessly, "In short, Wesley and Daphne are different!"

Wesley witnessed her decadence, frustration, shame, and despair. That was why... she could share her secrets with him.

Daphne was different. Jennifer showed the best of her in front of Daphne so that she would not worry about her.

Ethan fell into silence!

Turned out... Wesley was more important than her sister in her heart. Therefore... she told Wesley about her marriage but not Daphne?

What about him?

How much did he weigh in her heart? Or... like the others, he didn't matter.

Was he dispensable?

Dispensable or not, he was fine with both!

Only he dared not imagine more.

Just then, Daphne finished the phone call, walked happily to her sister, and broke the silence, "Jennifer... come on, show me your marriage certificate. This is so exciting!"

Jennifer was amused, "What are you excited about?"

"Why, shouldn't I be excited when my dear sister gets married? I'm gonna tell my fans about this." Daphne beamed and looked at the two red booklets as if they were a treasure.

"Jennifer, if dad knew about your marriage, he would be very happy." Daphne suddenly sighed with emotions. Under the light, the tears in her eyes glittered.
