Chapter 20 What Relationship
Although Alice came to apologize at his door, Caper was still mad.
"Apology unaccepted." He rejected it with a cold face.
"Danny, get her out of here."
He turned around and closed the door.
Danny took a glance at her, "Looks like he is still mad, but be content with what you have. He asks me to ride you home, which means that he won't harm you."
"Really? He won't retaliate against my family?" Alice was not convinced.
"Fool! Caper is not a monster. What could he do to a schoolgirl?"
"Let's go, it's late! I'll see you home."
Alice looked at the closed door, without the guts to knock and apologize to the man again. "I hope he'll relent..." She sighed.
"This is on you. What angered you so much that you spat at Caper?"
Danny walked off.
Dazed for a while, she followed in his steps.
Five minutes later, she got into Danny's car.
While his sports car was running down the road, he asked again, "You haven't answered me yet. Why did you spit at Caper? That's vulgar and barbaric."
Alice remained silent with her head low.
He took a glance at her without saying another word.
It seemed that she really would not like to talk about it.
He changed the subject, "Alice, about what I asked you last time, what do you say?"
She looked sideways at him, "What did you ask me?"
"Are you playing dumb? Or do you have amnesia?"
"I really don't get it."
"To be my girlfriend!" He sulked.
"No kidding, I won't be your girlfriend! If you really want someone to fake your girlfriend, I believe a lot of women are willing to do it as long as you pay." She said indifferently.
Her rejection aroused his curiosity, "Why? Am I not rich enough? Am I not handsome enough?"
Danny teased, but Alice answered seriously, "Danny, I'm grateful that you went with me to make an apology. I'll treat you to dinner another day."
"As for being your girlfriend, I don't know if you really mean it but will tell you honestly. I won't be a part of your entanglement with your ex, so don't try to use me as a pawn."
"And don't use me as a shield against your father. I don't like lying."
"Don't bring it up again, or it will be the end of our friendship."
Danny was surprised that she saw him as a friend.
He thought for a while, "Okay, I won't bring it up again."
"But you cannot reject this. Whenever I want to see you, you must come out and meet me."
Alice frowned slightly at his domineering speech, "We are just friends. I'm not your sidekick, so I can't do it."
"Heh, this is funny. Guess what, lots of girls in the school want my WeChat ID, and you don't appreciate your opportunity."
The arrogance and loftiness in his eyes reminded her of Caper.
They were birds of a feather.
Their tones and conceited characters were similar.
Were all rich people like this?
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Alice snapped back her contemptuous gaze and ridiculed, "I just find a similarity in Caper and you: narcissism."
"It's called confidence, okay? Besides, I'm telling the truth. Two roommates of yours asked me for my WeChat ID, but I didn't give them. At a glance, I saw through their intentions."
"What intentions?" She blurted out.
He laughed disdainfully, "You know, marrying rich men. I've seen too many of them. I can tell their qualities through a little talk."
"Don't you think it's arbitrary to judge people by sheer words?" Alice defended her roommates.
Danny chuckled, "Alice, it's nice for a woman to be naive, but she shouldn't be stupid! Don't hang out with those two again. They'll exploit you sooner or later."
"Enough! Danny, you can't slander my friends! One more bad word about them, I'll get off right away!"
Noticing her anger, he snorted and fell into silence.
He drove her back to the community of her apartment and asked before she got off, "Alice, tell me the truth, what's your relationship with Caper? Why did you go to his hotel room in the middle of the night?"
