Chapter 5 A Punch in the Face

It was not the first time that Ruby used this method to threaten Sophia. In the previous life, no matter how aggrieved Sophia was, she dared not take it out in front of Hunter.

However, given how partial Hunter was towards Ruby, even if Sophia bitterly shed tears in front of him, Hunter would not take Sophia's side.

Sophia slowly fixed her icy-cold eyes upon Ruby. The latter's heart tightened, and a trace of alert crossed her soft eyes.

"Since Sister Sophia doesn't want to see me, we will get going."

With that, Ruby tugged Joseph's sleeve and turned around to leave. Just then, Sophia's clear, frosty voice sounded behind them.

"Wait!"

The two of them stopped in their tracks and watched Sophia walking up to them with the bottle of mineral water.

"Let's put whatever between us to one side."

"What I hate the most is to be falsely accused and labeled, but today, you did both to me."

Sophia stood in front of Ruby, looking down at the woman several centimeters shorter than her. Her freezing face was devoid of any emotion.

Somehow, Ruby's heart was filled with scruples.

"Sister... Ah!"

Before Ruby could speak her words out, Sophia poured the bottle of mineral water upon her head. As water slid down her carefully groomed hair, it ruined her delicate makeup and stained her coat. Ruby froze and stood on the spot like a fool.

Ruby's eyes widened in disbelief, and it took a few seconds for her to react with a scream.

"Ah!"

Joseph snapped out of his shock and wrapped his arms around Ruby, glaring at Sophia with a sullen expression on his face. The man was so furious that it seemed that he simply wanted to kill Sophia.

"Sophia! You are going too far! You rustic woman!"

A bang sounded.

It turned out that Sophia threw the empty bottle into the trash can not far away as a response to Joseph.

Sophia stood with pride and said slowly and clearly, "I am a straightforward woman and cannot accept your falsely accusing me of bullying you. But I'm not smart with dealing with my anger or defending myself. So, I decided to fulfill your wish by taking action to bully you."

Joseph froze. Suddenly, he looked down at Ruby, who was crying in his arms, with a trace of suspicion crossing his eyes.

"Joseph, please quickly take me away. If the paparazzi capture the image of me being bullied by Sister Sophia, the Anderson family will surely become the joke in town."

The hesitation in Joseph's eyes immediately turned into distress. "Ruby, you're too kind. That's why you're being bullied."

Sophia was disgusted and sneered. "Must you two display affection in public places? Aren't you afraid of being censured by others?"

Joseph gave an icy glance at Sophia and then picked up Ruby to stride away.

After Sophia deliberately embarrassed Ruby, her mood was lightened. She hailed a taxi, and the driver was a middle-aged man.

After getting into the vehicle, Sophia immediately saw the dark aura floating around the driver.

At the same time, a message appeared in Sophia's mind.

Name: Carson Chapman.

Status: Evil spirits inside. In bad luck. Death threat lurking.

Carson was a good-natured, talkative man. After Sophia got seated, he began to talk to her happily.

Although Sophia did not respond to him much, he was content to talk to himself.

Sophia learned from his words that he had a daughter about her age in the third year of high school. Also, his wife was in bad condition. The entire family relied upon him, and they had a house payment.

While listening in peace, Sophia suddenly reminded the man with kindness. "Sir, your forehead is darkened, and your qi is weak. I suggest you go to an experienced master for help."
