Chapter 8 Pestered
Kelly thought indignantly and forced a word out of her gritted teeth, "Bandit!"
She turned around and went back.
But the man was not mad. On the contrary, a burst of muffled laughter came out of his vibrating chest, "You saved me, I will repay you. Let me know your name and home address. I'll pay a visit!"
"Save it!"
She would stay as far away as she could from such kinds of men. Never would she want any form of connection with him!
...
In Kent's manor...
Kelly returned to the main building in a shuttle vehicle.
"Miss, here you are!" The maid came up with a white towel, surprised with Kelly's discomfiture.
"Where's Chapman?" Kelly took the towel without halting her steps.
She was anxious to go upstairs and clean up her mouth gnawed by that pervert.
"Mister went out for an emergency, but... the young master just returned from his trip."
"Young master?" Still angry, Kelly was now confused.
"Well, it... it's..." The maid stuttered as she knew not how to introduce the man.
Just then, a proud voice cut in, "So, you're the engagement partner mentioned by my grandpa?"
Only then did Kelly remember Chapman's proposal.
She turned her head and gazed at the man walking down the spiral stairs in a well-ironed suit.
He looked outstanding and handsome, but she felt something was missing in him.
While she was contemplating, the face of the man she encountered on the beach resurfaced in her mind.
Kelly snapped out of the daze and tried to explain, "Actually, Chapman..." She was still hesitating about his proposal.
"Do you think you are worthy?" David looked down from the commanding position and saw her messy body. His dark eyes were filled with contempt and disgust.
The anger aroused by the man on the beach spewed up again.
"Oh? May I ask what kind of woman is worthy of you, sir?" Kelly lowered her head and carefully wiped the sand on her hands.
After quite a while, she raised her head and showed a hint of sarcasm in her shiny eyes, "Or, she hasn't been born yet?"
Her remark touched his bottom line.
The man rushed down the stairs in big strides, his figure towering up in front of Kelly.
His dark eyes glittered cold, "Better know your place. An insolent village girl like you dreams of becoming the young lady of the Kent Family? Don't you have a clear view of yourself? Do you know socializing? Do you know any etiquette? You're nothing but a joke!"
Kelly felt that even her ears were fuming.
But she didn't show the slightest anger on the surface.
An innocent smile appeared on her pretty face, and she uttered a confusing eek, "But according to Chapman, posing as an eye candy is all it takes to be his grandson-in-law."
"I'm a village girl with no talents, but when it comes to dressing up..." As expected, she heard the rapid and heavy breathing from the other party.
She went further by adding, "If enough money is spent on my face, I won't be a disgrace."
As soon as her voice died away...
A pair of hands as hard as pincers clasped her tender wrist in the blink of an eye.
He ruthlessly pulled upward, thus forcing her to lean back and face him.
His gloomy eyes as penetrating as the nail landed on her coldly.
"Are you determined to pester me?" He forced each word out of his gritted teeth.
