Chapter 6 Kissed
She asked about the way to the sea, only to find it just two kilometers away from Kent's manor that occupied thousands of acres.
Kelly held her grandma's cremains in her arms.
"Grandma, I underestimated Rose's ruthlessness!" She gazed at the boundless sea.
"I stumbled into danger myself!"
"It won't happen again!"
"From now on, nothing will constrain me. I'll take back what is rightfully my mother's little by little. I'll make James and Rose pay thousands of times the price."
Kelly stood upright on the seashore crashed by the tides. The outline of her face looked taut while her dark eyes were emitting coldness and tenacity. Her furrowed eyebrows looked icy.
She was both promising her grandmother and warning herself.
She stood there for a long time and only came back to her senses until the cold seawater soaked her shoes.
She opened the urn and slowly poured the wet cremains into the sea.
The waves surged and receded, carrying her grandma far away.
Grandma, I would come back for you often!
When she turned around, a brilliant rainbow blur caught her attention.
Well trained since her childhood, Kelly knew it as a parachute at a glance.
The tide was receding quickly, and Kelly planned to snap back her gaze when a figure appeared under the parachute.
Injured or dead?
She looked around.
At that moment, only she... and the one under the parachute were on the beach.
In such a situation, things were hard to tell.
Kelly didn't want any trouble!
When she just turned to leave, her master's mantra about physicians' conscience echoed in her mind.
Her will was hesitating, but her body had rushed to the figure.
It was a man!
Given his figure, he should be around 1.85 meters. The black suit on his body, fine in materials, set off his upright and muscular figure.
While he was lying on the beach, two-thirds of his body had been submerged, and a large crimson smear tinted the rolling waves.
Kelly hurriedly squatted and located the bleeding part. Given its shape, it should be a bullet hole.
Since she decided to save him, she disregarded everything!
In a hurry, she tore off a piece of cloth from the lining of her clothes and deftly wrapped it around both sides of the bleeding spot so that less blood would be lost.
She then struggled to turn the man over.
Another wave came, threatening to submerge the man's head.
Kelly made a prompt decision to move to the side of his head, clasped his armpits, and had a devil of a job dragging the man to a safer spot.
She panted, squatted again, folded her hands on the man's chest, and pressed heavily for a while.
She then pinched his nose, took a deep breath, leaned over, and exhaled oxygen into his mouth.
Getting no response, she repeated the process.
Once again, she passed the oxygen in her mouth to his.
All of a sudden, she felt the back of her head was clasped by a large palm.
It pressed her face further forward.
Kelly widened her eyes with a start and immediately met a pair of dark eyes as deep as the abyss.
She snapped out of the daze.
She... was kissed?
