Chapter 4 Time for Me to Go

"Your rescuer is named Kelly. Her father, James, runs a business called Summit Entertainment. She's 18 years old and was living with her grandmother in the countryside. One week ago, the old lady passed away, and she came with the cremains to her father. Unexpectedly, her stepmother tried to harm her."

The bespectacled man lifted his eyelids and cautiously measured the expression on the old man's face.

"Go on!" The old man's voice was not loud but filled with the oppression and solemnity of a higher-up.

"Yes!" The bespectacled man pushed his glasses, "According to the information we've collected, her mother died abnormally during her birth. Her grandfather was robbed of the family fortune and died from a recurrent heart attack. Her grandmother stole her away and hid in the countryside, thus avoiding the disaster. Before this, she was accompanied by her grandmother, but now... she only gets herself..."

Slap.

The old man smacked the desk heavily as anger spewed up, "Even a vicious tiger will not eat its cubs. Such a father is worse than a beast!"

He clenched his fists and slowly raised his cold eyes brimmed with ferocity, "That entertainment company is called Summit?"

"Yes..."

Rat-tat.

Someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!"

"Mister, the lady is awake." The maid pushed the door open and stood there respectfully.

"Awake? Quickly, take me to see her." Overjoyed, the nobleman stood up from his executive chair and hastened out of the door.

In the bedroom...

Kelly already cooled down.

At that moment, she picked up the cleaned clothes, about to change and leave.

Upon hearing the footsteps, she paused, raised her head, and saw the very old man she saved at the club the other day.

"Sir, how are you feeling?" She greeted the old man.

Chapman Kent froze. She was the sick one but asked about his health.

What a kind-hearted girl! Should anyone have the heart to hurt her like this?

Since she had lost her guardian, he would protect her from that moment on!

He would love and protect her like his granddaughter!

"Yeah, great!"

Chapman reached out and grasped Kelly's hand wrapped in thick gauze and looked at her with pity, "Girl, why did you get down? You haven't fully recovered. Come on, lie back on the bed."

"Sir, I've troubled you long enough. It's time for me to go."

"Nonsense, if it weren't for you, I might not have the chance to see the sun yesterday. From now on, this is your home, and you can stay here as long as you like. Who dares to argue about it?" Chapman pulled a long face.

"It was just a favor, don't mention it. Besides..." Kelly looked away at the urn on the nightstand.

She hadn't fulfilled her grandmother's last wish yet!

Chapman seemingly saw through her thoughts.

"Don't worry; I'll find a cemetery with the best feng shui in City W and hold a proper funeral for your grandmother."

How did he know it was her grandma?

The old man looked extraordinary at first glance. She assumed that he had learned pretty much everything about her.

"Thank you for your kindness!" Kelly shook her head and declined again.

She would follow her grandma's will and pour the cremains into the sea. Then nothing could stop her from retaliating against her enemies.

Chapman didn't insist but resorted to plan B.
