Chapter 11 Why Give Her Money?
Both of them relaxed for quite some time before coming back to their senses.
Michelle was surprised to find Thomas's arm around her shoulder. In a hurry, she took two steps forward, and his arm slipped off.
The sudden free fall made Thomas uncomfortable and embarrassed him a bit. Now he knew not how to interact with Michelle.
They were not familiar with each other, and this was their first official meeting in the office. It was pretty embarrassing for such a thing to happen before a stranger.
To ease the embarrassment, Thomas coughed slightly, and his face restored its usual coldness, "You should not... tell others about this!"
Michelle smoothed her hair that was ruffled by his arm. Daunted by his gaze, she awkwardly stared at the floor, "Don't worry, I'm not a big mouth who gossip about private matters!"
Although she made a promise, Thomas was still ill at ease. No women around him, including his mother and little sister, were reliable. There might be one... Anyway, there was no one he could fully trust.
Thomas suddenly walked to the front of his desk, took his phone, and looked at Michelle, "Tell me your phone number."
In a trance, Michelle blurted out, "134..."
Michelle told him her number when Thomas tapped the screen of his phone and told her, "I've sent it to you, check it out!"
Michelle was confused. What did he send to her?
Just then, there came an alert from her phone. Michelle took her phone out of her pocket and took a look. It was a WeChat message.
Michelle clicked on it and found a verification message. The avatar was a scenic spot and the user name was Night.
While Michelle was wondering about the identity of the stranger, Thomas's cold voice came over, "It's me!"
Only then did Michelle get his meaning. Turned out he sent her a friend request.
Should the big boss want to be her friend on WeChat? What was he up to?
Didn't the company forbid anyone to bypass the immediate leadership and ask for the phone numbers or other contact information of their superiors? Not to mention that there was a big gap in the levels between them!
Instead of clicking on the agree button, Michelle looked up at Thomas and asked, "Mr. Ruiz, doesn't our company forbid anyone to ask for contact information beyond levels? If I grant your request, won't I be excoriated by my supervisor?"
Thomas sighed. Why did this woman have so many questions? "I asked for your contact information, not the other way around. It didn't break the rule!"
"Oh!" Michelle responded and felt reassured a bit. As long as she was not scolded by her manager, she was fine with it. Then she clicked on the agree button.
A few seconds, however, the other party sent over a transfer message.
Michelle was stunned and gaping at the number.
One, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand...
It was 50,000 yuan?
Not a greedy person, Michelle couldn't understand why Thomas transferred the money to her. Raising her head, she looked at him and asked curiously, "Boss, did you send it to the wrong person?"
"Nope!" Thomas remained indifferent.
"Why did you transfer 50,000 yuan to me for no reason? Could it be..."
