Chapter 11 I Have Seen a lot of Women like This
As the vehicle drove through the city center, Bree saw several people wearing red volunteer uniforms and holding a red collection box. Then, she urged Leo to pull up the car.
As soon as the car stopped, she eagerly opened the door and ran out.
Leo witnessed Bree stuffing the bracelet Hilda gave her into one of those collection boxes.
The woman swiftly ran back and sat down in the passenger seat with a wry smile, asking, "Happy now?"
Leo's expression kept gloomy since Bree had taken Hilda's bracelet.
With his brows raised, Leo asked, "If you knew I'd be upset, why did you take it in the first place?"
"I wouldn't have taken it if it was a normal item!" Bree wrinkled her nose and looked arrogant.
"What's the difference?" He did not know what Bree meant by 'normal,' but the bracelet seemed to him to be nothing special but expensive.
"Of course, there's a difference!"
Bree gushed, "The coating on that bangle is apparently the result of years of wearing."
"As the mistress of the Lewis Family, she certainly has no shortage of jewelry. It's either something special or something she loves or both that keeps her wearing it all the time."
"Besides, even if I didn't take that bracelet, she will try other methods to alienate us in the future. In that case, why not let her pay some price?"
"You probably didn't notice her distressed expression when I took the bracelet. It was a relief to see her like that!"
The corners of Leo's mouth lifted as he watched the girl's radiant, smug expression. "It seems that you know her quite well."
"That's right." Bree blinked. "You looked so pale just now. She must have thought she had succeeded in alienating us. And believe it or not, the next time we meet, she will try to get that bracelet back."
"Have you thought about how to deal with her yet?" Leo asked casually.
Needless to say, with Bree's quick wit, she would let Hilda suffer bitterness.
Sure enough.
Bree flashed a confident smile, saying, "A jade bracelet can be quite hard or incredibly fragile. It depends."
"I've seen that kind of woman a lot. She maintains the persona of a good wife and mother on the outside. However, She owns the most sinister and vicious intentions on the inside. I'm sure she used to make things difficult for you in the past."
At this point, Bree patted her chest. "Don't worry, I'll take care of that woman from now on so that you can concentrate on dealing with those men."
The meal made Bree fully aware of Leo's hatred against the Lewis Family.
As Leo's wife, she would inevitably have to deal with the Lewis Family in the future. So, she took the initiative to shoulder some of the duties.
Moreover, after that confrontation, she understood why Leo married her.
Because he could only get his mother's shares by marrying someone.
What about her?
Why did she marry this man in the first place?
Bree had an epiphany as she looked at the man's cold, charming side face.
Leo was silent.
Bree was right about one thing. He used to suffer significant losses due to Hilda.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of that woman from now on so that you can concentrate on those men."
The woman's words echoed in Leo's ears. Leo's heart was touched as he looked at her bright smile.
For so many years, there had never been a woman who had said words like these to him. Miranda Saunders used to accompany him through the hard times, but that was all.
However...
