Chapter 4 Truth or Dare

"Dad, we can't decide for him." Alison had a glance at Old Mr. Longman and said cautiously, "Benjamin has been loving Kay. Nelly is a natural daughter, after all. She may disgrace our family name."

"Shut up!" Old Mr. Longman was aged but quite spirited. "I wish Benjamin can be maturer. He's old enough, but he still plays all day outside! As I see, Nelly is steady. They'll be right for each other!"

Old Mr. Longman is speaking for her!

Nelly appeared at the door and heard what the old man had said. While she appreciated his kindness, she felt somewhat sad.

She couldn't love Benjamin, though she didn't hate him.

"Grandpa, I'm here to see you."

It was Alison who opened the door for Nelly. In front of Old Mr. Longman, she didn't show too much disgust for Nelly.

After greeting, she left with an excuse. Then, there were only Nelly and Old Mr. Longman in the living room.

"Where's Benjamin? Why isn't he with you?"

Noticing Nelly's unnatural look, he pulled a long face. "Nelly, tell me the truth. Did he fool around again? Bastard! He promised me that he would stay at home after work! How dare he go back on his words? He's disrespecting me and this family!"

Seeing him flare with nostrils, she patted his back to comfort him. "Grandpa, you are wrong about Benjamin. He was out for a banquet tonight. His friend said he's drunk and let me pick him up now."

With a snort, he hit home. "Which friend? Carlos Hanks, isn't it?"

"Yes, grandpa. If nothing else, take a rest early. I have to go now." Nelly felt somewhat guilty under his piercing eyes.

"I see. Just go... Drive carefully and come back early."

Watching her figure disappear at a corner, he sighed slightly. When would his blind grandson distinguish who was a fish eye and who was a pearl?

When Nelly hurried out of the house, she only wore a thin shirt. The cold midnight wind slid into her clothes and gave her goosebumps all over. Guided by the digital map, she drove to the People's House In Paradise.

Carlos said he had told the club manager about this. When she arrived, she only needed to tell her name and someone would show her the way.

Guided by the manager in person, she walked across the hall through a complicated passage with sconces. The faint scent from somewhere unknown was arousing every guest's desire deep inside.

Some doors were open, from which music and dreary cries of singing blared out. Some were closed. It was self-evident what indecent things were going on inside.

The manager stopped in front of a door with a golden-framed number plate. He knocked on it and turned around to explain that this was a VIP room.

Nelly replied with a perfunctory smile. She had no interest in that at all.

Soon, the door was slightly opened by someone inside. The manager gestured her to go in.

It was total chaos.

Nelly's grace was incompatible with the disorder inside. At the sight of her, all the people fell into silence.

A wine bottle rolled to her feet. She looked up and saw Benjamin sitting on the sofa, his long legs overlapping on the table. On his left, a coquettish woman with wavy hair was holding his waist.

He raised his head lazily in a drunken stupor. "You really came here. Carlos just played a truth-or-dare game and joked with you. You didn't need to hurry over so anxiously. Nelly, you care about me, don't you?"

Before she could reply, he began flirting with the woman next to him. His voice was clear enough to let Nelly hear it. "Hmm... you little wild cat... you got my fire up. You must be responsible for putting out the fire!"

"Sure... I'm always willing to serve you," the woman said in an affectedly sweet voice as she snuggled into his arms softly.

"Benjamin Longman!" A certain nerve in Nelly's brain was almost burned into ashes by her anger. Being totally neglected, she felt she was the biggest fool in this world!

Eyelids still drooping, he didn't take her fury seriously. "Huh? You are still here?"

This was the last straw for Nelly!

She strode up to the table, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and unscrewed its cap. The next second, she poured it onto Benjamin's head.

"Fuck!" Some water flew down his hair and splashed into his eyes. He growled and sobered up greatly. "Nelly, how dare you? Don't you believe I can kill you anytime?"

"Yes! Of course, I believe!" At this moment, Nelly was gloomy and cold to the extreme. "You left me alone in the deserted suburbs and got me soaked in rain! You colluded with your brother to turn my concern into a joke! You made me act like an idiot hiding the truth for you in front of grandpa! Benjamin Longman, there's nothing you don't dare to do to me! Because this is you!"

How could she expect a good side of him on the phone? That was too stupid!

She turned around neatly, forcing her tears back. She swore she wouldn't waste any tear on this heartless man anymore.

"Stop!"

She ignored it.

When she almost disappeared in his sight, Benjamin rushed to her side and grabbed her arm, threatening to teach her a lesson. But her struggle made him lose his sense of propriety. Under a sharp pull, her head knocked against a glass window that reflected colorful light.

Since she had her back to him, he didn't see her expression. But the next second, her body swayed like a kite and fell onto the ground.

At first, he didn't care much about it and even touched her shoulder with his toecap disdainfully. "Hey, do you think I would spare you if you feign death?"

She didn't answer.

Feeling it strange, Carlos jumped off the sofa and hastened over. He squatted to check her condition before looking up at his brother with fear. "She really fainted."
