Chapter 4 That Man Had Died

Kitty blurted out: "No!"

James had a cold glance at her.

It was silent, commanding, and frightening.

She explained hurriedly, "The warehouse is just for placing some old junk. It's closed all year without any window. The little princess couldn't get in at all."

After saying that, she turned around to scold the servant, "Don't waste any time. Go find the little princess again!"

The servant was especially anxious. "Miss White, we've even seen the bottoms of the beds..."

Ding!

Just at this moment, James's phone rang harshly. It was a sound of alarm!

Mrs. Reed revealed a big smile. "Sir, the little princess is signaling us for help!"

James walked quickly out of the living room.

"You're screwed." Eric paused deliberately as he passed Kitty.

That was because the little princess's location was right in the warehouse.

But Kitty had just said she couldn't be there.

Hearing Eric's words, Kitty felt limp in her legs and collapsed onto the ground.

Why was the little princess in the warehouse? Was even the Heaven helping Stars?

Emma was also panicked as she saw the others heading for the warehouse. "Kitty, what should we do? If they meet each other..."

"Let's go! Follow them! Hurry up!" Kitty struggled to rise from the ground and hastened out of the house.

The warehouse.

As the heavy door was pushed open, several people rushed in.

Stars was surprised that the button was really so useful. It seemed that the little girl was taken good care of.

Then, she noticed a tall man standing at the door. Although she couldn't see his face under the dim light, she felt his overwhelming aura of authority.

This aura...

Somehow, it reminded her of what she had felt outside a door three years ago.

But it couldn't be him.

When she was abroad, she read the news that a rich man who became a vegetable in a car accident died despite treatment.

All the details proved that this man was the one she met that day.

What a pity that such a handsome man passed away.

"Little Princess!" Seeing Alice, Mrs. Reed was finally relieved. She held the girl tightly in her arms.

James's face softened as he made sure his daughter was safe. When he was about to leave, Alice dragged his shirt with strength.

He looked at her.

She pointed at somewhere inside the warehouse.

James peeked into the darkness and noticed a woman.

She was sitting on the ground with messy hair and dirty clothes. But that failed to hide her unworldly beauty.

Just then, Kitty arrived panting. Seeing who James was looking at, she hurried to divert his attention. "She's the black sheep of our family. We locked her up here just to give her some punishment..."

But he ignored her directly and instead turned to his daughter. "You want to save her?"

Alice nodded.

"I see." He strode in.

Kitty got out of his way immediately, waiting in fear for the two to recognize each other.

But at the same time, her eyes were full of admiration.

This man, in his early thirties, was a legend himself.

In that property scramble of the Green's, James had been at a distinct disadvantage. But smartly, he pretended to be a vegetable and played both ends against the middle.

And yet, it was not easy to be a vegetable. It was said that someone had once stabbed him in the foot to see whether he was pretending or not.

There were many unimaginable tests apart from this one.

With his strong willpower, he overcame all the hardships and successfully deceived all the people.

It was these sufferings that made him who he was today.

No matter where he was, people would be stunned by his aggressive aura.

At this moment, Stars was watching him approach, not knowing what he was going to do.

Actually, she also wanted to leave here as soon as possible. But a sharp pain in her stomach didn't allow her to exert any strength.

Kitty was too merciless in that kick.

As he bent down, Stars became alert. "What do you want to do?"

The man was stunning with pronounced facial features and an excellent figure.

For the occupational reason, she had seen many handsome men. But she dared to say that none of them could rival him in beauty.

James felt her question was very interesting. Other women were itching to have his attention, but she was so vigilant in front of him.

But anyhow, he would fulfill the task given by his daughter. So the next second, he carried her by his arms. "Now, you know it."

Her heart suddenly pounded wildly. Through his clothes, she could feel his strong muscles. His low magnetic voice came as an even greater temptation.

But after the incident three years ago, she became reluctant to be intimate with any man. This sudden embrace...

She got goosebumps all over and struggled crazily. "Put me down!"

His eyes dimmed as he watched her wriggling in his arms.

If it was not for his daughter's sake, he wouldn't care about her at all. What an ungrateful woman!

There was also a deeper reason. When her body rubbed against his chest...

He felt a surge of desire in his heart!

Shit

Oh no!

"Stop!" he thundered. Then, he held her more tightly and walked out of the warehouse.

Stars opened her eyes wide in shock.

All right. You don't need to be so angry.

But she really didn't expect this poker-faced man to be so kind-hearted.

Seeing that, Kitty gnashed her teeth with anger.

Why did Alice, an autistic child, bother to save Stars? Was there really telepathy between a mother and her child?

Besides, why did James Green, who always hated women hold Stars in his arms?

But anyway, there was something that made Kitty relieved — they didn't seem to recognize each other...

That was explainable, though. What had happened three years ago was no more than brief physical pleasure. There had never been deep love between the two.

But to avoid anything unexpected, Kitty decided to handle that woman as soon as possible.

Stars saw the bright sky again.

While in the warehouse, she should have rushed at Kitty and responded in kind by kicking.

But she didn't want to quarrel with Kitty in front of outsiders.

What she experienced this time made her understand that head-on confrontation couldn't help solve the problem. It seemed that she had to look for her child in other ways.

As James came up to his car, Stars broke free from his arms and jumped onto the ground.

Leaving his warm hug, she sighed with relief.

Then, she squatted and looked at the little girl. "Thank you for saving me. My name is Stars, just like the stars in the sky. What's your name?"

Alice pursed her lips.

Stars waited for her answer patiently.

Hearing Stars's question, Mrs. Reed was surprised. Who didn't know that the autistic little princess couldn't speak? What a dim-witted woman!

When Mrs. Reed wanted to answer for the little princess, something unexpected happened!
