Chapter 23 Mother-and-Son Bond
Terry picked his son up from Brenda's arms for fear that the drunk woman would literally throw Jimmy away.
"Go make some soup."
After Terry gave the servant an instruction, Neil arrived.
It was a tall and skinny man.
He wore his long hair in a ponytail. It looked pretty nice as he had delicate features.
It was fair enough to say that Neil's beauty was beyond gender.
Neil walked over to the bedside with his medical kit in hand and saw the wound on Brenda's hand. He then gasped in surprise and rolled his eyes. "That's it? It's nothing severe. So, this is why you've called me over, Mr. Lloyd? I am busy and expensive!"
Neil then checked on Brenda again and found no more injures.
He cast a dubious glance at Terry, asking, "Mr. Lloyd, you didn't make this woman pregnant, did you? I have to make it clear that It's a family rule that members of the Wright's only save lives and won't get an abortion for anyone."
For years, Neil had known Terry, and this was the first time that a pretty, young woman appeared by his side.
"Shut up!" Terry furrowed his brows slightly.
Neil's medical skill was extraordinary. It would be much better if he did not talk so much.
Thanks to Neil's professionalism, he perfectly dealt with Brenda's deep wound on the hand, which had tiny glass fragments inside and wrapped it carefully.
The pain in the process made Brenda groan. Neil commented in a joking tone, "The woman looks pretty, and her voice is pleasant and inviting. Mr. Lloyd, would you like me to touch bones for both of you to see the destiny between you two? I think she is a nice choice for you."
Terry rolled his eyes at Neil and said nothing. However, Jimmy got excited. "Touch bones? What is that? Touch my bones, please."
Neil was willing to play with Jimmy and therefore touched bones for him and Brenda.
Neil took Brenda's hand in his left and Jimmy's in his right.
After touching the bones of the two, Neil suddenly said, "You two have a mother-and-son bond? Yes, a mother-and-son bond!"
Neil opened his mouth wide and shocked himself at the conclusion.
It was widely known that Jimmy had no mother.
If Brenda was not Jimmy's biological mother, she could only become Jimmy's mother by marrying Terry.
And of course, Brenda was not Jimmy's biological mother. Even Terry himself had no idea who his son's mother was and where she was.
Staring at Brenda and then Terry, Neil then revealed a cunning smile.
"Mr. Lloyd, seriously, I'm a good bone feeler. Just follow the instructions of fate...Gee. Don't hit me. Hey, stop. My shoes, my shoes..."
By the time Terry had the housekeeper throw Neil, out, Brenda had already drunk the medical soup for sobering up, which the servant served.
The medical soup was sour and bitter. When Terry entered the guest room, Brenda was asking Jimmy for a lollipop. Upon seeing the man, she intuitively rose to her feet. "Mr. Lloyd."
The woman was wearing an ashamed and worried expression. Apparently, she was not ignorant of how she had behaved during her drunkenness.
"Thank you for having saved me." Brenda lowered her head to stare at her bandaged palm, waves of complicated emotions surging up in her heart.
Earlier this night, Darren and the others first forced her to drink half a bottle of spirit and then to play that nasty game.
If Terry had not shown up, it was predictable what would happen to her.
Brenda's palpitations were palpable, and her small, pale face and pointed chin made her look much younger than she really was.
Terry measured her without speaking.
Terry looked at Brenda's neck, which was exposed as she lowered her head. Gradually, the man's eyes moved at the woman's back.
Her slender back looked thin and smooth.
Terry could feel the woman's attraction all the time, no matter she was intentional or not.
The little boy had no idea what was going on between the two adults, saying to the woman, "Brenda, I haven't seen you for days. I miss you so much!"
At Jimmy's words, Brenda suddenly felt relieved from the pressure Terry had put upon her shoulders.
She smiled. "I'm right here, aren't I?"
"I miss you even if you're right before my eyes." Jimmy cautiously grabbed Brenda's uninjured arm. "I'm going to sleep with you tonight. You'll stay. Is that okay?"
Brenda felt embarrassed.
Although Terry had somehow rescued her this night, Brenda had concluded that the man did not like her from the way he had treated her before.
So, of course, she could not stay at the man's place.
"Jimmy, Rich is home alone. I have to go back to feed her."
At this moment, Jimmy acted like a naughty three-year-old.
"No. Don't leave. Rich has you every day while I cannot see you every day. Daddy doesn't allow me to come to you, and you don't come to me either. The so-called mother-and-son bond is nothing but a joke. You don't love me at all..."
Just then, Terry interrupted his son by saying, "You'll stay here tonight."
At the bossy man's dominant words, Brenda simply wanted to submit herself to him.
Brenda could not help but nod her head dumbly.
What did Jimmy mean by the mother-and-son bond?
She thought that she was probably still drunk and had an auditory hallucination.
