Chapter 4 Reencountering Mr. Lloyd
The little boy looked three to four years old. Supposedly, he was here as he had heard the cat's cry.
Brenda walked up to the boy, who was lying on the floor and carefully turned him over.
Then, the boy's delicate little face stunned the woman for a second.
If angels did exist in this world, they would look exactly like the boy.
Brenda really thought so.
However, she somehow felt familiar with the face as if she had met the little boy before.
However, Brenda became aware that it was not the right time for her to scrutinize the boy's features. It was summertime, and the air in the closed warehouse was stuffy.
She was worried that something bad might happen to the little boy if she failed to get him out of place as quickly as possible.
Staring at the pretty boy, Brenda somehow felt tight in her chest, and her heart ached strangely. She was even losing her breath.
Honestly, she was not a woman who liked kids that much. Especially after losing her own child in an accident, she did not even dare to look at little boys and girls on the street.
However, the boy that she had never met before actually made her heart pound violently.
At present, the most important thing was to save the boy.
Brenda tried to pull the roller shutter up, and something unexpected then happened.
The gate that had fallen into disrepair for years stayed motionless.
The woman looked around and noticed that a huge ventilation window could be used.
The glass was gone, and it looked basically passable.
And presumably, the little boy had crawled in through the window.
In a moment of emergency, Brenda first put the cat, whose one leg was injured, on the edge of the window, and then carried the little boy on her back and managed to get through it.
In the meantime, the smart orange kitten jumped off the window.
With the little boy on her back and the orange cat in her hand, Brenda walked fast towards the filming base entrance.
At this moment, the boy shuddered slightly and muttered, "Kitty... Mommy."
Was he thinking of the cat or his mom? Brenda found the boy's words interesting.
Then, the little boy put his soft arms around Brenda's neck and said it again, "Mommy."
Probably, the pain caused by the fall made him miss his mother.
Brenda's heart softened instantly, and she then lifted the cat in hand closer to the boy, saying, "Your kitty is here. I have brought her out."
As if the cat had understood the woman, she meowed drowsily as a response.
It was about one or two o'clock in the afternoon; the sun was scorching. It could imagine how uncomfortable Brenda had been feeling with a heavy load on her back.
Besides, she did not sleep well last night. While walking, her steps grew heavier and heavier, and her head got dizzier and dizzier.
She finally arrived at the filming base entrance and saw a group of people rushing towards her.
And her consciousness became blurred.
Right after someone picked the little boy up from her back, Brenda fell to the ground and blacked out.
When the woman woke up and opened her eyes, golden brilliance instantly filled her eye sockets.
A man's features appeared in the golden brilliance, and the noble, proud vibe he was giving off had wrapped Brenda.
Brenda looked at the man closely and found that his features were incredibly similar to those of that little boy.
The sensation of déjà vu became even stronger.
Brenda was stunned. She hurried to close her eyes, muttering, "Gosh, have I traveled to twenty years later? That little boy has grown up!"
The boy used to look like a gorgeous baby doll, and he looked refined, powerful, and standoffish when he grew up. Brenda found it hard to take her eyes off him.
"Sister, sister! You've woken up. That's great!"
Gee! Why did the man's voice still sound like a little boy's?
Brenda dared not open her eyes.
She was too scared to face the man with handsome and noble features and a childish voice.
"When do you plan to stop faking sleep?" A mellow yet distant voice sounded.
All of a sudden, Brenda felt the temperature in the room had decreased dramatically.
The voice sounded familiar.
