"Sheldon, are you goading me?" Instantly, Christine calmed down. As if she had seen through the man, she somehow nursed a sensation of superiority, and her rage melted.

Sheldon curled up his lips into a smile and gently pointed the woman's nose with a finger, answering, "Yes, I am. Will you accept the offer?"

Christine patted the man's hand, replying, "Since you've admitted so, I will accept the offer for the sake of the baby in my belly and myself."

Feeling satisfied with the woman's answer, Sheldon then went to take a shower and get changed.

Mrs. Jones had got the breakfast ready. In fact, when she walked out of the dining room, she noticed that Sheldon and Christine were interacting intimately on the sofa. Feeling bashful, she hurried to take her eyes off the couple.

After making sure that Sheldon had gone upstairs, Mrs. Jones asked helpers to bring out the food, including porridge, pickles, milk, bread, bacon, and so on.

Knowing that someone would take her to the company, Christine decided to feast on the big breakfast. Otherwise, it would be a pity both for herself and her child.

Though she had got pregnant for a short time, she loved the child very much. Learning the child's father was not Kevin once pained her, still, her affection for the kid was unshakable.

While Christine was halfway through her breakfast, Sheldon walked downstairs. He had changed into clean clothes and got rid of the sweaty smell.

He then started his breakfast rapidly, yet the speed brought no detriment to his grace at all. Christine and Sheldon almost finished eating at the same time.

After that, the two of them walked out of the house, and Sheldon personally took the woman to her workplace.

The man said to Christine, "Someone will pick you up in the afternoon."

Intuitively, the woman touched her belly. She felt much securer to sit in an exclusive vehicle, therefore, she nodded her head.

Just as Christine wanted to get off the car, Sheldon suddenly grabbed her by the arm. Feeling confused, she tilted her head to look at the man.

To Christine's surprise, Sheldon managed to crane his neck to kiss the woman on her lips.

The room in the vehicle was compact, and the man's kiss was abrupt. Christine could do anything but widen her eyes in surprise.

Two seconds later, Sheldon ended the kissing and pinched the woman's cheek, saying, "That's the tip for my taking you here. Now you may go to work. Remember not to let anyone bully you, and I have your back."

Christine clearly sensed the man's enthusiasm from his honeyed words. However, she did not forget that she had set the rules before their marriage.

"You're crossing the line." The man forced herself to ignore her speeding heartbeat and put on a standoffish expression.

Sheldon answered in a carefree tone of voice, "Yeah, I know. But I didn't promise you that I won't cross the line before marrying you, did I? Alright, leave whatever you want to say for home. You're going to be late for work."

Home...

It was true that Christine had to head to the office right away. Helplessly, she got off the vehicle.

Upon seeing Christine, Jane said, "Here you are! if you don't come today, I'll burst into tears."

Christine answered, "No worries. I'll take care of everything."

At this moment, Mona showed up, saying, "Gee, isn't that Director Smith. Long time no see. We all know that you've got married again. Have you been busy making a baby together with your new husband during this period? Will that affect your work?"

She was wearing a slim rosy dress, nine-centimeter heels, long curly brown hair and giving off an inviting vibe.

While checking on her reddened fingernails, she walked towards Christine.

Mona then said with a put-on smile, "Actually, you don't have to come. Mr. Law understands your contribution to the company over the years. He has considerately assigned me the task of selecting the brand ambassador. You're fine with that, aren't you?"
