Chapter 16 Change It!
Sheldon had successfully tantalized Christine! The woman's chest was heaving violently, and she felt that though she had just stepped out of the lion's cave, she had fallen into the wolf's den!
"Don't get angry. You're so adorable while being angry that I cannot prevent myself from kissing you," said Sheldon in a light tone, and his voice was fucking pleasant to hear.
Christine took a deep breath, ignored the man, faced the table, and picked up the chopsticks to get the dinner started.
Sheldon revealed a smile and stroked the woman's head. "Good girl."
Christine's body shivered slightly. No one had ever touched her head before. And the way Sheldon touched her head actually made her feel like being pampered.
Being pampered?
Sheldon pampered her?
It must be an illusion caused by her severe lack of being loved.
The candlelight dinner, which represented romance and happiness, had become a complete ordeal for Christine, and she heaved a long sigh of relief when it finally came to an end.
Fortunately, Sheldon did not torment her again and took her straight home after dinner.
When Christine followed Sheldon into the house, Mrs. Jones handed the woman her the slippers as if she had been waiting for a good while. It was notable that Mrs. Jones did not hand Sheldon his slippers.
"Miss Smith, what's for soup tonight?" asked Mrs. Jones.
Sheldon, who had changed into his slippers, said in an irresistible tone, "Call her Mrs. Collins."
Mrs. Jones froze and immediately changed her words. "What kind of soup would you like, Mrs. Collins?"
As if there were ants crawling all over her body, Christine felt uncomfortable, answering, "Just the same as last night."
Her appetite was not changeable.
Just then, Sheldon asked abruptly, "What did you have last night?"
"It's white fungus and lotus seeds soup, sir."
"Change it!"
At the man's bossy words, Christine said with a frown, "I'll have white fungus and lotus seeds soup. Don't change it!"
It was Christine who would have the soup. What qualified the man to make the decision for her?
With one hand in his pocket, Sheldon stared at the woman silently.
Mrs. Jones was hired by the man. Naturally, when Sheldon and Christine could not reach an agreement, she would listen to her boss.
Christine knew she could not change Sheldon's mind. She took a step forward, pushed Sheldon to one side, and headed upstairs. The man only cared about the child in her belly and did not give a damn about her appetite!
Sheldon's light laughter sounded from her behind and intensified her anger. She slammed the door shut and sat down on the bed. It took her a good while to calm down.
After regaining her composure, she realized that she had been childish and bold to get mad at Sheldon.
While she was reflecting on herself, her cell phone rang. It was from her assistant, Jane Cox.
"Christine. Mr. Law wants to know when you're coming to the office. We have to determine the brand ambassador soon. If you don't come back, Manager Cook will make the decision on her own. I'm worried that the person that she decides on will not conform to the image of our brand."
Jane said worriedly.
It was still September. Christine remembered that it had been scheduled to determine the brand ambassador in October.
Christine did not go to the office for just a few days, and Mona Cook had put the matter ahead of schedule. Was the latter trying to make things difficult for Christine?
Christine answered, "Jane, I'll be at the office tomorrow morning. No worries. I'll select the brand ambassador by myself."
The brand Christine was in charge of was called Rainbow. When she joined the company, the brand had not been launched. It was she who had built it up step by step from launching and positioning to promotion and so on.
She had made great efforts to establish the brand and would not allow anyone to ruin her work!
When Christine hung up, Mrs. Jones entered the room with lily bulbs and milk custard.
Well, Mrs. Jones eventually followed Sheldon's instruction. Even though she knew that this was coming, she still felt tight in her chest.
