Chapter 15 The Punishment

If it had been three days ago, Christine would have felt ashamed. After her life had been turned upside down by her previously ridiculous marriage, however, those girls' comments could no longer affect her mood.

At this moment, Sheldon released Christine's hand and walked straight towards those girls. Seeing him coming over, those gossipers immediately shut their mouths up.

"Are you guys jealous of watching people get married and divorced every day?" Sheldon leaned against the counter with a faint smile on his face.

Though Sheldon ridiculed those women, their hearts involuntarily pounded violently as the man looked so handsome and noble.

"Stop gossiping the woman I'm going to marry. Save your time from judging others and work hard to make a fortune so that you could have plastic surgeries to prevent yourselves from living alone for the rest of your lives."

Sheldon's tone was flat, yet those women were pissed off. He was clearly suggesting that they were jealous of Christine's divorcing and remarrying as they were ugly.

The girls blushed all over, bit their bottom lips tightly, and did not know what to say.

After collecting the marriage certificates and walking out of the building, Christine said to the man, "Actually, you don't have to bother with those women as that only lowers your status."

Sheldon touched the woman's head and let out a gentle smile. "I was doing that for my wife. How could it lower my status?"

Upon hearing the man calling her wife, Christine's mouth twitched. They had just registered for marriage, and the man had already got inside the role.

"To celebrate that our child's parents have finally got married, I'll take you out for a delicious meal as the kid's Dad."

Without waiting for a response, Sheldon forcefully took Christine into the car.

Christine felt confused and embarrassed.

Kevin, who had been waiting outside to find out what was going on, saw them hugging and getting into the car, and his heart simply hit rock bottom.

He rushed into the Civil Affairs Bureau. Being told that Sheldon and Christine had really registered for marriage, his face turned deadly pale.

Hell no! How could Sheldon have married Christine? He could not believe it.

...

At six o'clock, Sheldon and Christine appeared on the top floor of a western restaurant.

As Sheldon had hired the entire floor, there were only he and Christine sitting opposite each other in front of a long French-style table.

There was red wine, candles, various exquisite dishes, and flowers on the table.

It was a typical candlelight dinner.

The atmosphere in the room was romantic, and the melody played by the pianist was healing.

However, the candlelight dinner in front of Christine reminded her of Kevin, who had once promised before they got married that he would take her out to have a romantic dinner like this.

Their marriage had actually lasted for only two months.

Christine curled up her lips into a mocking smile, raised the glass, and drained the red wine in it. Being lost in her thoughts, she did not even realize that Sheldon, who initially sat opposite her, had walked over to her side.

As Christine put the empty glass on the table, Sheldon lifted her delicate chin with his slender hand.

Without saying anything, the man leaned in to kiss the woman on her mouth.

Christine widened her eyes in surprise. Although they had collected marriage certificates, she had not yet accepted the fact that Sheldon had become her husband.

Helplessly, the woman opened her mouth and bit the man on his lips. Sheldon hissed, released Christine, and then raised his hand to touch his broken lip.

He even stuck out his tongue to lick the lip as if he had not had enough.

Upon seeing the man's flirty movements, Christine blushed all over.

"Your husband is sitting across from you, and you're thinking about another man. Is it fair to the father of your child?" Sheldon said in a domineering yet somewhat aggrieved tone.

Christine was stunned. Had Sheldon detected that she had been thinking of someone else? His eyes were extraordinarily sharp, weren't they?

"I've told you to stop thinking, yet you're still lost in your thoughts. Do you want me to punish you, or what?"

He then bent over and put one hand on the back of Christine's chair and the other on the table in front of her. The woman was then sitting between him and the chair, and their position was incredibly intimate.

"That kiss was my punishment for you. If you want to be punished, then go ahead thinking of another man. I'm happy to administer the punishment, anyway."
