Chapter 3 Divorce Him!

Fortunately, Christine was sent to the hospital in time, and both she and the child were safe and sound.

Lying on the sickbed, she did not want to open her eyes. Instead, she was reflecting on her two-month marriage. The more she thought about it, the more ridiculous she felt it had been.

It was utterly dark outside. Sheldon was standing by the window with one hand in his pocket and his lips set in a grim line.

The atmosphere in the ward was neither depressing nor relaxing.

After a good while, the man walked over to the sickbed and said to the woman, "Since you're already pregnant with my child, divorce Kevin as soon as possible."

His voice was mellow, magnetic, and extraordinarily pleasant to hear.

Under the quilt, Christine grabbed the sheet tightly. She was unwilling to divorce Kevin to make room for him and Lora.

Knowing that the woman would not answer him, Sheldon walked out of the ward with a steady step.

After a short while, Christine heard footsteps approaching. Thinking that Sheldon was coming back to persuade her into a divorce, she flew into a rage and said in a grave voice, "Get lost. I am not going to divorce."

"Christine, you bitch. You're pregnant with another man's child. Why are you not letting go of my son? You damned woman!" It was actually Clare Cook, Kevin's mother, who rushed into the room.

Kevin hurried to stop his mother. "Mom, calm down. Please calm down!"

Christine opened her eyes with a frown and sat up to look at Kevin and his parents with a sneer.

Clare glared at her, asking, "Who is the father of the bastard in your belly?"

Christine did not say anything. Kevin pouted his mouth and answered on her behalf in a somewhat aggrieved tone of voice, "Mom, the child's father is Sheldon Collins."

"What?" Hank Lee, Kevin's father, gasped in shock. The Lee Family and the Collins Family were close to each other, and Hank had sort of watched Sheldon growing up. He then yelled, "Ridiculous! It's simply ridiculous!"

Clare collapsed into Kevin's arms and cried. "I've told you before not to marry this woman. I wish you'd listened to me back then! She is disgracing the Lee Family. What sins have we made to deserve this?"

Hank flew into a rage, roaring, "Kevin, you must divorce this shameless woman."

Kevin put on a vexed expression, saying, "Dad. Christine has said that if I divorce her, she will get rid of the kid. You know, it is Mr. Collins's child. I, of course, don't dare to let anything happen to the baby."

At the man's words, Christine curled up her lips into a mocking sneer, thinking that Kevin was shameless as hell.

Hank's anger was boiling as he continued, "It is a bastard that she is carrying. She is threatening you that she will get rid of it, so what? The Lee Family can never accept such a shameless woman!"

Hank's reaction somewhat surprised Kevin. The reason he had brought his parents to the hospital was to force Christine to please Sheldon by giving birth to the baby but not to push her to get an abortion.

Christine and the kid in her belly were his bargaining chips to negotiate with Sheldon. He must not allow his father to destroy his plans.

As Kevin was lost in his thoughts, his father pushed him, ordering, "Ask the doctor to arrange an abortion for the woman. Hurry up."

The push staggered Kevin. Before he could come to his senses, a cold, overbearing voice sounded from the outside.

"What are you guys? What makes you in charge of aborting my child?"

These words, like a sharp sword, made people in the ward shiver all over in shock.
