Chapter 5 Why Don't You Divorce the Dying Man?
The next morning.
Sherry was awakened from the nightmare by the ringing of her cellphone, and a quick glance at the caller's number gave her the sudden feeling that this was the beginning of another nightmare.
She hurriedly washed up, hailed a taxi, and left the Cook Villa.
As soon as she pushed open the front door of the Ella villa, she heard the sound of something crackling and slamming inside.
"Sherry!" the maid, Carol, saw her enter and rushed to meet her, "You'd better go and talk to Madam!"
Sherry stood in the doorway, nonchalantly taking off her shoes, "Who's messing with her again?"
"It only could be Tia Bond and Lucy!" Carol looked like she was grumbling.
No wonder!
Sherry stepped over the shards of vases scattered on the floor and headed to the hall.
"Listen, Sherry, if you still consider me as your mother, go get a divorce with that Kevin Cook right now! You're so young. Why should you the sick man's wife!" Belle Clark saw Sherry approaching and immediately angrily pointed at Sherry and ordered her.
Sherry had become accustomed to Belle's words.
The first thing Sherry did was not to comfort her but leisurely sat down on the sofa. She elegantly crossed the fair and slender legs. She raised her gorgeous eyes slightly to Belle, "Mom, you are the rightful Mrs. Ella, and Tia Bond doesn't even qualify to enter the door of the Ella's. Why are you angry with her?"
"It was the bitch who told everyone that Lucy was engaged to the Moody's son and that the Moodys were going to give your dad that piece of land in Prosperity Plaza as a bride price!" Belle regained her senses a little and sat resentfully on the couch, "The Cook's is rich and powerful, but Kevin Cook is a complete sick man. He's going to die sooner or later, to put it bluntly! The thirty million from the Cook's helped your father's company out. You wasted two whole years of your life! There are so many men chasing you out there now, so divorce him before everyone knows you're married!"
Divorce Kevin Cook and marry another rich man while she was young and beautiful!
That was what Sherry had in mind and what Belle meant by her words.
"Even if Kevin Cook is sick, you should know which is more important between the Cook's and the Moody's, mom!"
Taking the warm water from Carol, Sherry placed the glass in front of Belle. She smiled softly like a spoiled child, "Well, don't be mad! I have to go to the hospital, so I'd better go!"
Sherry rounded the couch and headed for the entrance.
Just as soon as she turned around, the smile on that delicate face immediately disappeared and her expression became serious and cold.
She'd gotten the information early in the morning that the Moodys were planning to cooperate with the Ellas, using the land at Prosperity Plaza as a bride price, which was a big deal.
Tia Bond wanted to get into the Ella's by relying on Lucy Ella's marriage to a wealthy man.
But it was hard to say who was going to end up with the land of Prosperity Plaza!
Sherry took a taxi and headed straight to the famous South Hospital.
She had made a contract with Mrs. Koch that she would visit Kevin in the hospital at least once a week. After she married Kevin Cook, she went every week as promised.
A sapphire blue tight skirt completely clung to Sherry's slender body, revealing long, fair legs. Her long, curly, burgundy hair was loose, and a pair of sunglasses almost hid her beautiful and delicate face.
Sherry walked out of the elevator in a 10cm-stilettos and walked through the hospital corridor calmly.
She drew focus from the doctors and nurses and all the families in the VIP wards!
Pushing open the door to the 303 VIP room, she found the bed empty. Two nurses were arranging pillows and blankets at the bedside.
A tall and slender man was standing at the French window, who caught Sherry's eye.
