Chapter 4 Interview Mommy

Despite his nature as a cold arrogant man, Sean doted on his son. If his son denied, he would not marry that woman.

Following his suggestion, Sean really walked away.

Now Jenny already reached the Roger Mansion. On high heels, she dashed into the lobby on the ground floor.

Sean just came out and ran into her.

At that second, Jenny felt something strange. The air about the man was awful. It looked like he enjoyed high status.

Could he be...

But she couldn't rashly identify him and had to pretend that she didn't see him. Then she walked straight to the front desk to inquire, "Excuse me, could I ask if Mr. Sean Roger is in the office?"

The corner of Sean's mouth twitched.

This woman...

His appearances in Harbor City's news coverage weren't rare. Hadn't the woman seen the photo of the man she was about to marry?

Watching Sean come out, the front desk staff widened her eyes, and her greetings were stuck in her throat.

Since she didn't know if the lady had an appointment and whether Mr. Roger wanted to meet her or not, she certainly couldn't call him in the presence of a visitor!

Jenny, however, was anxious. Fumbling in her bag, she took out a business card and handed over, "Excuse me, I'm Mr. Roger's fiancée, Jenny Lane. I need to see him for an emergency."

Fiancée?

Who was Mr. Roger? A heartthrob admired by every female employee here!

His marriage attracted the interest of all workers here. When gossip girls gathered around, they liked to talk about Mr. Roger's tidbits.

Through newspapers, she learned about the engagement between Mr. Roger and the lady from Lane Family a long time ago. Rumor had it the couple was on good terms and about to get married...

As a receptionist, she had keen eyes and ears. This lady not only failed to notice Mr. Roger but also didn't have an appointment, which was quite strange!

It was improper for her to reject the request from his fiancée in the presence of Mr. Roger.

What should she do?

Mr. Roger was well-known for his cranky temper. If she couldn't answer well, she might be fired...

From behind came Sean's deep voice, "He's not here."

Relieved by the answer, the front desk staff secretly wiped her sweat and hastened to chime in, "Yeah, right, Mr. Roger is not here today."

Since this man knew Sean's whereabouts better than the receptionist, he should hold a high position in the company.

Jenny then turned back and came up, "Excuse, may I ask you are..."

This woman was unable to recognize him. Was she a fool?

Sean somehow got upset, "None of your business."

His voice sounded a bit familiar, but Jenny couldn't remember and didn't have the time to mull it over.

She believed she was polite today and didn't do anything obnoxious. This man was unreasonable!

Should a man with such low emotional intelligence be around her fiancé! It looked like Roger Group was not as prominent as rumored!

She lifted her head and chested out before looking at him.

It was her professional habit as a lawyer. Before speaking, she needed to look at the other party in the eye and prevailed in vigor.

But he was very tall.

Despite her height of 1.7 meters (5.6 feet) and the high heels, she still needed to look up. Her imposing air was dwarfed by his height.

A little discouraged, Jenny managed to maintain composure, "Sir, didn't your elementary school teacher teach you to be polite, and didn't your middle school teacher instruct you to be a gentleman?"

What was wrong with this woman?

Following a helpless titter, Sean turned away, "Idiot!"

Infuriated by the man, Jenny turned back, bypassed him, and stopped him from the front, "How could you talk like that? That is personal abuse, and you'd better apologize. Otherwise, Mr. Roger will punish you severely!"

Seriously, how could such a man exist around Sean?

Sean was full of contempt, "Do you think he will like you?"

How dare he threaten her! This man was so obnoxious.

But his face was good-looking...

A not-so-good possibility instantly crossed her mind.

Could he be a toyboy kept by Sean? So, he bore a grudge and spoke mean after she claimed that she was Sean's fiancée?

Gosh, her fiancé was a gay?

Despite her pity for him, Jenny decided to teach him a lesson nonetheless.

She smiled, "So what, I will be his wife."

She raised her hand, patted him on the shoulder, and added, "For adults, interests matter. Despite your past deep affection, he needs me to be his wife and stand by his side."

What past, what deep affection?

Oh my, Miss Lane regarded Mr. Roger... gay and implied that he was a gigolo?

The front desk staff silently made the sign of the cross and prayed for this pretty lady. She wished that Miss Lane could leave Roger Group alive today.

Sean's face turned dark with anger, but Jenny didn't bother for another glance at him. Instead, she walked into the elevator with her head high, thought for a moment, and then pressed the 77th floor.

The president of an international consortium like Roger Group was not someone one could meet casually.

But judging from the presence of his boyfriend and the receptionist's hesitance in her speech, Sean should be in the office.

When she worked as a lawyer in Country A, she got in touch with many bosses. Judging from her experience, a young proud entrepreneur like Sean should like to overlook the entire city.

So, his office should be on the top floor.

As expected, she smoothly found the CEO's Office up there. After a few knocks on the door, she got no response and pushed it open as the door was not locked.

In the spacious and bright office, she saw a large desk but found no signs of men.

Jenny found it strange and ventured to ask, "Hello,... anyone there?"

"No one taught you to knock before coming in?"

The tone was sophisticated, but the voice was milky. Apparently, it was a child.

After a moment of daze, Jenny walked up and then found a child sitting behind the large desk. In a business suit and leather shoes, he looked like a boss except for... his little figure.

He could hardly be seen behind the tall desk.

The kid, however, was impressed by Jenny the moment when he saw her. This young lady was already 25 years old, but her skin was smooth and tender. She was gorgeous and looked like around 20!

"Kid, your... where is the uncle here?"

Out of instinct, she originally wanted to ask him about his dad. On second thought, she remembered that her fiancé, Sean, might be gay. Neither did she hear that he had a child. It couldn't happen that she would be a mother, could it?

The little one was depressed to be interrupted by her. But he worked hard to imitate his dad's tone!

He had seen much of Sean in his working hours. Clearing his throat, he put on the air, "I am Sean Roger. Miss, what is your issue?"

If Jenny was not pissed today, she would probably have laughed out loud. This kid looked no more than six years old and claimed to be her fiancé?

She heard Sean's voice through phone calls when they talked about their marriage. It was a deep, attractive voice pleasant to the ear and definitely not from this kid.

Anyhow, this kid looked so pretty. His chubby face looked like a little bun that she wanted to squeeze.

Jenny could resist no cute children. After seeing such a lovely kid, her sorrow and depression today were all left behind.

Quite cooperatively, she picked up his drama. Walking to the desk, she squatted slightly, "Wow, really? What a coincidence! I am Sean's fiancée. Are you going to marry me?"

All seriously, the kid tried to keep his voice deep, "Since we are engaged, I certainly will marry you, but..."

Jenny was waiting for the rest of his drama. Unexpectedly, the kid suddenly looked sick. Short of breath, he covered his chest and fell backward!
