Chapter 20 Get Out of the Woods
"Aanisah, stop pretending to be proud in front of me. Do you think I cannot look through your tricks?" Anger replaced mockery in Johnny's face, "I am warning you; you'd better get out of the Woods now! Or..."
"Johnny!" Aanisah interrupted, not afraid of his threat somehow, "Is this the way you talk to your aunt?"
Johnny was stunned and could not continue his words anymore.
"Well, aunt?" He paused for a second, and then sneered with mockery in his face, "Aanisah, do you think Andrew will marry you? Don't be naïve! For him, it was just a game. Ha... The marriage certificate or my aunt, they are just made up to fool my grandpa. Do you think I don't know your tricks? I am just not willing to be a debunker! And don't make me angry because there is nothing I dare not do.."
Aanisah found her heart sink at that time. It seemed that people of the Woods were not as foolish as she thought.
At least Johnny could tell the fake marriage certificate.
If so... was her identity as his aunt not working anymore?
"Fake?" Aanisah kept her expression calm although she was anxious, "Perhaps you are the only one who will regard marriage as a game."
"Game?" Johnny laughed, "It's true Andrew will not regard marriage as a game because he will never have a marriage."
"What do you mean?" Aanisah was shocked.
"He didn't touch women!" Johnny looked at her with teasing eyes, where there was hate as well as mockery, "Especially women like you who have slept with others. It will be impossible for him to touch you!"
A sense of humiliation occurred to Aanisah. She tried not to think about what happened that night, yet memories struck her like heavy storms.
Her hands clenched tightly. It was not out of anger but shame.
What she had hidden deliberately in the most inner part of her mind was now uncovered by Johnny.
She never thought about she would have any relation with Andrew, nor married to him. But now, she thought she was too humble to even stand by his side, or near him.
Yet she would only put that feeling in her heart and would not let Johnny sense that.
So, she was not afraid or tried to avoid when she heard his words. Instead, she raised her head high and looked at his mocking face, "It's not important who I am. What matters is that he loves me!" Aanisah said that without hesitation, with a firm and powerful expression. "Otherwise, he would not stand by my side in front of so many people. On the contrary, if he knows that you talk to his woman in such a manner, what will my husband, your uncle, do to you? "
"You?"
"Johnny..." Peggy stepped down from the car and walked towards them. She held Johnny's arm and said gently, "Perhaps you can go to the car now, and I will talk to her."
"Aanisah, don't be too proud. I will kick you out of the Woods sooner or later. And then I will make you rather die!" Johnny pointed at Aanisah's nose and turned to the car with anger after saying that.
