Chapter 4 He Stayed Overnight Deliberately

Jane shook her head, "If it's your friend, I'm fine with him being here. But it would be better if it's a female friend." She smiled at Stephen, "Sister Donna is a good one."

Her brother was 28 years old, a valuable doctor as well as a neat freak. He was such a handsome and elegant man, but he had no girlfriend. Donna liked him, but he wasn't interested in her at all, which made Jane feel anxious.

"You naughty girl." Stephen coaxed her. But when he took his bowl and chopsticks to eat, the doorbell rang.

"So soon? I'll answer the door." Stephen went to open the door.

Jane continued to eat the food happily, thinking to herself that her brother had made some progress in cooking, which was a good thing for her future sister-in-law!

"Jane, this is my friend, Edward Pike." Stephen led his friend in and then introduced to Jane.

"Edward, this is my younger sister, Jane." Stephen walked to the dining table, "Come and join us for dinner."

Jane raised her head to see the person while Edward did the same. They were stunned to see each other.

Jane was shocked and thought, "How could this guy be my brother's friend?"

Edward thought to himself in surprise, "How could this woman be Stephen's sister?" Stephen had never said that he had a sister, so Edward was already shocked to hear about his sister on the phone, but now he was more shocked to know his sister was this woman!

"Mr., Mr. Pike, nice to meet you." Jane put her bowl down before she got up.

"Nice to meet you, too. Miss Sidney." Edward touched his wounded forehead, "I didn't expect to see you again."

"Do you know each other?" Stephen asked as he beckoned them to sit.

"We took the same plane back. And my forehead was hit in the plane." Edward pointed at his forehead, but stared at Jane, "It still hurts right now. I can't even wait to dig out the one who hit me and then tear the one apart."

It could only be seen from Jane's expression that she was a bit shocked, but she was terrified inwardly.

"Watch your language! You've frightened my sister!" Stephen stopped Edward from saying more after he noticed his sister was not feeling well, "Also, don't you dare stare at my sister!"

Edward rolled his eyes against Stephen and began to eat, "You should thank me for killing the robbers with Sean."

Stephen was a bit surprised to know this. After all, it was reported that two brave men stopped the robbers in time and minimized the risk, but he didn't buy that. Anyone without Edward's skills was incapable to deal with the robbers.

"Eat more then." Stephen enjoined him, but took more food for Jane, "Jannie, you should eat more."

"Thank you, Stephen." How could Jane eat these at this time? She was now sitting opposite Edward, wondering if he had known that she had done that to him. After all, if he asked the stewardess who had survived about who had gone to the storage room, she might have told him that the passenger at seat 28 had asked for a glass of hot water.

The atmosphere was suddenly arctic. Since they all kept silent, it was more depressing.

After struggling with herself for a long time, Jane finally put down her bowl and chopsticks, saying, "I'm full now. Take your time!" Then she got up and went upstairs.

Stephen frowned as he looked toward Edward. Everything seemed to have changed since this guy got here.

Edward ate all the dished within a short time, and then he looked at Stephen, "I'll wait for you." He pointed at his forehead and then sat on the sofa in the living room directly.

Stephen couldn't wait to send him away, so he stopped what he was doing, "Go and wait for me in the treatment room. I'll be there soon."

After Edward entered the room, Stephen had already put on his white coat, so he went to check on his wound directly.

"Wounded by a blunt thing?" Stephen asked.

"A glass, I assume. I was hit hard." He answered.

"I really wonder who had done this to you. For those whom you have provoked in the past, they would probably stab you to end your life!" Stephen teased him as usual, "I'll disinfect it for you."

Edward sneered inwardly, "It was your baby sister who had done this to me!"

Jane was listening to their conversation upstairs. When she heard that Stephen was checking on the wound in Edward's forehead, she prayed that Edward should leave as soon as possible!

Thump! A loud thunder sounded in the sky, and then the rain began pouring.

Jane closed the doors and windows hastily, and then she went downstairs to do the same.

The two men walked out at this time. Edward's head was bound with a new bandage, seeming like Stephen had taken care of that.

"The rain is so heavy. I'm afraid I won't be able to leave here. You own such a large house. Can I stay here overnight?" Edward took a glance at the wind and rain outside, and then he turned to look at Stephen.

"Well..." Stephen hesitated. Jane was now shaking her head behind Edward to tell Stephen that she didn't want Edward here at all.

"I'm afraid my little house..."

"I'll be fine to sleep on the sofa." Edward interrupted him at once, walking toward the sofa and then lying on it without hesitation.

Jane had never seen anyone as shameless as he was. She pulled Stephen to the balcony. After she made sure that Edward wasn't listening to their conversation, she whispered, "Stephen, who on earth is this man?"

Jane told her brother about how Edward had killed several robbers alone in the plane within a short time. And most importantly, he had saved her when she was forced to face the camera.

Stephen kept silent for a moment, and then he said to Jane, "He is the president of Pike Group, the famous transnational group in Viaduct City. He had studied in Army East Point, the well-known military school in the world, graduated with the highest grades in all subjects, and broken a dozen school records in there."

"A year after his graduation, he built Pike Group, and became the top 10 most influential figures in the world. Also, given his special identity, he is allowed to have a gun with him by the government."

Stephen patted Jane on her shoulder, "I'm afraid he is the only one in this world who could surpass your brother."

"What?"

"That's okay, but you should not mess with him." Stephen told her, "Be a good girl and go to bed."

"Okay." Jane turned around and got upstairs hastily.

She locked the door first. After confirming her safety, she put on her pajamas and lay on the bed, but her heart was beating at the thought of what had happened in the past two days.

She was indeed a survivor!

While thinking about it, Jane fell into a deep sleep. She didn't even realize that the man had suddenly appeared next to her bed until she felt being pressed by someone, and she couldn't even breathe...

Jane opened her eyes and saw the handsome face in front of her.

"You!" Jane was totally awake! She struggled with efforts to push away the man who was pressing on her.

However, Edward pressed her two legs with his thighs directly. His left hand grasped her arms above her head, while the other pinched her jaw directly!

He asked viciously, "You smashed my head, didn't you?!"

"No, I didn't do that! How could it be me?!" Jane shook her head hurriedly, "Let go of me! Stephen! Stephen... Um!" He covered her mouth directly!
