Chapter 5 There Seemed to Be No Hope
At 3:00 p.m. in the morning.
Ashley's situation had finally stabilized. Although she was still in a coma, Nick said that she had the hope of waking up, which was the best news for Hathaway these days.
Nick drove Hathaway home out of kindness. In fact, this was not because Nick was in good faith but because Hathaway's condition was too bad. She was wearing such a sexy dress, and she lost her high heels. If she stepped out barefoot on the cold floor, it would make people feel that she was a prostitute. If she took a taxi back in such clothes at night, she probably would meet something bad on the road.
On the way back, Hathaway said wryly,
"Dr. Jackson, you are a good man. I thought all the good people in the world were dead."
Nick knew what had happened to her in the last month and smiled lightly,
"There are still many good people in this world."
"Why isn't there a good person around me?"
With this, Hathaway suddenly turned to Nick, who was driving, with a sly smile.
"Dr. Jackson, since you are so good, why don't I dedicate myself to you?"
Nick didn't look back and drove intently.
"Come on. You'd better put your mind on Leon. As a doctor, I have no ability to clean up the mess in the Taylor Family."
Suddenly, her mind was exposed. Instead of being embarrassed, Hathaway humbly asked Nick for advice.
"Then, as his friend, can you help me analyze whether I can successfully pursue him?"
"Do you want to hear the truth?"
Nick asked Hathaway, and she gave him a positive smile. Nick smashed her hope relentlessly,
"If the difficulty coefficient is up to 10 points, then yours should be 9.8."
Hathaway giggled.
"It seems that there is no hope..."
Nick smiled and said nothing, which was the default of what she said.
In fact, Nick felt that what he said was somewhat conservative. Actually, if she wanted to tempt Leon Davis and let him help her, then the difficulty coefficient should be 10.
At 8: 30 a.m. the next morning, Hathaway Taylor, who had slept for only several hours, appeared in the Taylor Group on time.
It was early spring. When she walked in the company in high heels with a bright yellow suit as well as her exquisite and perfect makeup, she looked very temperamental.
Hathaway was followed by her young assistant Barry White. Barry was excellent among men in the respect of both face and figure. It was said that because of this, he was chosen as an assistant by Hathaway from a bunch of newcomers of the company.
At that time, all the executives of the company objected. She had no experience in managing the company and Barry had no work experience, so it was ridiculous to them.
Hathaway just raised his lips lightly and said with a smile that it would be okay as long as he was good to see.
Many people in the Taylor Group said that Barry was treated like this because he slept with her. However, both of them seemed to care nothing about these rumors. Hathaway still stuck to her previous practice, while Barry still served Hathaway conscientiously.
At this time, Barry reported to Hathaway in a low voice as he walked with her.
"Mr. Wang and Mr. Sun have already waited in the conference room, and Second Elder Tom is accompanying them."
Although they were said to be waiting in the conference room, they were actually blocking there. It was still early before the working time, but they had already arrived.
Mr. Wang and Mr. Sun came to recover the debts. The Taylor Group became turbulent because Kenny Taylor, the elder brother of Hathaway, got imprisoned, and the company slipped into a pile of debts. After Hathaway took over the company, the debt collectors came to make trouble almost once a week.
As for Second Elder Tom mentioned by Barry, he was Tom Taylor, the second uncle of Hathaway. He was a man who had devoted his life to fighting with his elder brother Paul Taylor and his nephew Kenny Taylor. Now, he tried his best to kick Hathaway out of the Taylor Group.
