Chapter 4 I Have Nothing to Lose

After taking Hathaway, Nick explained to Leon in the back seat while driving towards the hospital.

"Leon, the patient's life is the most important. Sorry, but you have to go to the hospital with me first."

"It's all right."

Although Leon didn't like Hathaway, he was not the kind of person who wouldn't be considerate of his friends, let alone to be the kind of person who didn't care about other people's lives.

Besides, after getting in the car, Hathaway seemed to change to a different person. She kept raising her hand and covering her face in silence. Her arrogant and flamboyant face was all blocked by her hands, so Leon couldn't see her expression now. He only felt that when he looked at her closely, her shoulders were thin enough to make people feel shocking.

Nick briefly explained Ashley's situation to Hathaway while driving.

"The nurse on duty said that Charles Robinson went to see your sister at night. After he left, her situation got unstable."

Just as Hathaway was notorious in South City, Ashley Taylor, the eldest daughter of the Taylor Family, was also a household name.

However, Ashley was famous for her gentleness and beauty.

Because of this, Ashley was the object whom many young talents in South City wanted to pursue. Ashley was engaged to Charles Robinson, the eldest son of the Lin Family a year ago. They could be described as a perfect match between a man and a woman.

Their wedding day was originally around the corner, but Ashley met Charles Robinson's pregnant mistress like a soap opera before getting married. Ashley felt extremely angry and drove away. She got into a car accident because she lost control of her emotions and then became what she was like now.

After Nick finished speaking, Hathaway continued to be silent for a long time. She loosened her hands on her face, pulled out her mobile phone from her handbag and made a phone call. Her voice seemed calm, but the words were extremely vicious.

"Asshole, if you want the baby in that bitch's belly to die, then you should continue to appear in my sister's ward."

No one knew what the person on the other end of the phone said, and then she raised her lips and sneered,

"Now is there anything I dare not to do? I have nothing to lose anyway. If you annoy me, I will die with all of you."

She simply hung up the phone when she finished speaking, and then she turned to look out of the window and felt stunned.

Leon Davis, who always looked on coldly, stared at her cold side face and squinted slightly.

He had seen her shameless behavior in front of him before, but now she made him look at her with new eyes.

When she first heard that Ashley was in a bad condition, she showed panic and helplessness. But until now, she did not cry or show any more panic. Instead, she was calm enough to make making people's flesh creep.

If it weren't for her vicious warning call to Charles Robinson, outsiders would think that she didn't care about Ashley's life at all.

Nick comforted Hathaway while driving.

"You don't have to worry too much. You have made efforts before, but your sister has been unconscious. She's responding now, which is probably a good thing. Whether it is warmth or harm, as long as it can stimulate her, she may be waked up by it."

After arriving at the hospital, Nick jumped out of the car and ran towards the emergency room, followed by Hathaway. Because the high heels hindered, she simply kicked them off and ran behind Nick in bare feet with her skirt lifted up, regardless of the strange eyes that people showed along the way.

Leon stood in the darkness and watched them disappear out of his sight silently and then turned to leave.
