Chapter 5 Find Them

At the same time, in the military airport of Washington D.C.

A plane ran along the runway lit by neon lights and landed steadily on a special tarmac.

Soon, a group of people got off and walked orderly into the airport lobby.

Leading the group was Jason Nell. The man, tall and sturdy, boasted broad shoulders. Dressed in a common business suit, he looked awe-inspiring in every way.

The group stayed at the coffee bar of the airport for a brief rest.

Under the bright lights of the coffee bar, he slightly cast his amber eyes down. His thick eyelashes cast two shadows under his eyes.

The waitress served a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Maybe because she was nervous or excited, the coffee cup shuddered on the saucer.

Adjutant Harry Mathieson walked over, took the coffee, turned back, and handed it to Jason.

"Sir, your coffee. I know you don't like the drinks on the plane and have asked for freshly ground coffee. And, the coffee bar is operating 24/7, so I didn't use privilege."

Until he finished the last sentence, Jason finally softened his expression. Taking the coffee cup, he nodded a greeting at the waitress.

The waitress blushed with shame and lowered her head to look at her toes.

Since this was a military airport, the lobby was very quiet. On the huge screen in the middle was broadcasting the highly anticipated Valentine Award ceremony.

On the screen, the host suddenly fell into silence. After the scene was switched, a woman got on stage and handed a child in her arms to the woman on the stage.

The moment when Jason saw the woman on stage, his hand holding the coffee cup abruptly hung in the air.

"... Three years ago, I was deceived by a shameless unfaithful man. After I was forced to give birth, he disappeared without a trace. I was angry but also grateful..."

The woman on stage told her story, her tone firm and aggrieved.

In front of the coffee bar, the man's face gradually stiffened.

Shameless unfaithful man?

She was deceived and forced to give birth?

As he listened to the woman's elaboration, the corners of his lips twitched slightly. His sullen gaze moved across the woman's cheek and landed on the face of the cute child in her arms.

His amber eyes looked familiar, and his lashes were long and thick...

Thud! The man thumped the coffee cup on the table, pulled a long face, and got up.

Behind him, his followers immediately straightened their backs and didn't dare to breathe freely. The air was as tense as a taut string.

The waitress almost cried out of anxiety as she thought the coffee was not good enough.

"Harry, find them!"

Jason strode away, calling the adjutant while walking. His elegant voice carried distinct anger.

Finding whom?

Stunned, Harry involuntarily looked up at the screen in the hall.

After some analysis, he was shocked by an idea that popped up in his mind!

"Sir, three years ago could she be..."

Before Harry could finish, a scalding glance came from the front. In a hurry, he stopped talking and swallowed the second half of his sentence.

"Find them and do a DNA test for the child. I need the most accurate result!"

Following his words, the man walked away without looking back.

...

At night, a certain loft building in downtown Washington D.C.

On the door beam of the house wrote two large characters, Birch Maple.

Many fashionable celebrities were gathered in this area. It was considered the fashion landmark of Washington D.C.

Designers like to rent such loft buildings. The first floor was used for office and exhibition while the second was used for accommodation.

Artistic and industrial touch was the style here. So was Birch Maple,

After the door was closed, Linda and Carrie immediately held each other, screaming excitedly.

In the middle, Em covered his eyes while giggling. His chubby legs kicked excitedly.

"Pour the wine till we are drunk!"

Carrie shook off her shoes and threw herself on the couch like a lucky survivor from a holocaust.

"Linda, your crisis PR tonight was perfect! The revelations on Twitter are so coercive that I thought our reward must be screwed!"

Linda took out the trophy, carefully polished it, and placed it alongside another older one.

She smiled in satisfaction at the sight of the two identical trophies.

"The first trophy my mother won back then was also Valentine. When I'm hell-bent on winning, no one could ruin it!"
