The next day

Sham sat on the sofa watching TV covered by a blanket. She had spent the night on her sofa and was not in the mood to even lay in her bed. She was still sick but better than the previous day, where she had series of migraine and nausea. That morning Sham felt better the migraine was off but nausea and dizziness filled her and she felt like the world was rotating. She had taken some pain killers and promised herself that if it gets worse she will have to go to hospital but she was feeling better but still sick. She had a cup of coffee and sandwich on a stool next to the sofa. She had to eat at least something to keep the drugs working. She knew it was maybe malaria or fatigue she had worked alot that Friday. She wanted to go for the party and have fun at least to forget about Amal a little but that was not what her body wanted and she felt helpless. She took a sip of coffee and a bit from sandwich, chewed and swallowed hard, she had no appetite completely. She had put on her pajamas, a heavy sweater and socks. Shortly she heard a knock at the door. She groaned loud, she was not expecting anyone and this was a bad time for anyone to visit her at such a condition. She rose up from the sofa and strolled to the door. She then opened the door and leened on the door. An unknown man stood at the door and Sham was confused. She started thinking of the bills she had not paid for the month. Silence prevailed and they both looked at each other. "Yes, how may I help you?" Sham said to break the silence, it was getting awkward. "My name is Marcus I'm Amal's friend, I need to talk to you."

"Ooh Amal." Sham said rolling her eyes and closing the door behind her. "Sham Amal's in hospital, I need to talk to you." Those words penetrated into Sham's ears like a sword. She ceased closing the door and Marcus breathed heavily. She looked at him and her eyes were showed concern, more than concern. "Come in." Sham said as she walked in. Marcus walked into the house and locked the door behind him. She headed to the kitchen took a glass and a jug of juice. "What happened to him." She said serving him. She then felt dizzy all of a sudden and she supported herself with a couch. Sham then walked back to her couch. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

"I came to talk about Amal and Sophia and Amal and Jecinta." Marcus said and took a sip of the juice. "I don't care about him and his......"

"Let me speak please, Amal told me you are a bad listener." Marcus cut her short. Sham rolled her eyes and shrugged. "Amal and Sophia got married 10 years ago after dating for 2 years, Amal was well established then thanks to his parents who had a fortune. He's an adopted child, his foster parents never had kids."
