Chapter 25 The daughter of the sea
After Laura Green arrived in Manchester, the person in charge of the playground also arranged for someone to pick up the plane and arranged for her to stay at a five—star hotel by the sea. All the treatment was beyond imagination.
After a day's rest, she went out with a backpack. She had a three—story building by the sea.
Laura Green went to the second floor and found the propaganda department by the door. A girl with glasses opened the door and politely welcomed her in.
Inside was an open—plan office environment with plenty of sunlight. The director's office was just a glass partition.
Laura Green walked over and knocked on the glass door. A 30—year—old man looked up at her and nodded to her.
"Hello, I'm Laura Green!" Laura Green pushed the door in and introduced herself.
"Hello, I'm finally looking forward to you. My name is Alex Brown!" Director Brown shook hands with her and invited her to sit on the chair at the table.
"Our playground is set to open next month. We're worried that we won't be able to find the artist.
Laura Green smiled, took out the manuscript from her backpack and placed it on the table. She said, "I know you guys are in a hurry. While Iwas resting at the hotel last night, I had already drawn up some sketches! "
"That's great!" Director Brown delightedly took the manuscript, looking page by page.
"Very interesting!" He looked at her and nodded.
Laura Green's idea was to condense the fairy tale "Daughter of the Sea" into a 10—page drawing. The biggest consumer group in the playground was children, and young people. Children like mermaids, and young people like mermaids' mysterious love stories.
"It's very new!" Director Brown praised her after reading, "Just do what you think!"
Seeing his crisp decision, Laura Green could not believe it. This was the first job related to her major.
"Then I want to start work tomorrow!" Laura Green said happily.
"Yes! There's no need to mention it to me. I'm not looking for Eve outside." Director Brown pointed to the girl who had just opened the door for her.
"Okay!" Laura Green nodded.
After going out of the building, Laura Green walked to the beach. The sea breeze was a little strong and her hair was being messed up, but she felt very comfortable.
All the rides on the beach were in place and just waiting to open, there was a huge white board in the middle, which was where she was about to work.
The next day, just after dawn, Laura Green got up, wore a straw hat, and wore long—sleeved pants to the beach. The sun was hot at noon. She had to make good use of the morning and afternoon time.
Climbing onto the scaffolding that she had set up, Laura Green looked at the floor. She was still a little afraid of heights.
In this way, after two days, the embryonic form appeared, and there were often people who came to watch her draw, but she was very focused on doing her own thing.
On the evening of that day, the sun was setting and Laura Green came down from the stand and was about to finish work.
After packing up, she noticed that a young man was staring at the drawing board with his arms. It was nothing. When he passed by her, this man suddenly laughed, and his laughter was clear: "Don't you feel a little childish?"
Laura Green stopped, turned to look at him, and confirmed that the words were addressed to her.
The young man looked at her too, wearing a simple white T—shirt and looking handsome and thin. His gold—colored glasses made him a little more bookish.
"Don't you think it's childish for you to draw these things as an adult?" He asked as he looked at her.
When he heard this, it was quite annoying. Laura read expressionlessly and replied, "As you say, it's time for the children's textbooks to draw their own illustrations, because adults feel too naive!"
With her questioning voice, she was especially clear on the deserted beach.
The young man looked at her serious look, and thought that it was interesting. As a fellow, he originally wanted to ask about her experience in drawing fairy tales. Who knew that this girl was more authentic than himself?
