Chapter 7 Back Roads

As night fell, London Bar started to stage a lavish nightlife. Laura Green was wearing a bartender's uniform and was sitting in the lounge waiting for the shift.

When James Brook came in, she was looking down at her phone.

"Hello! You have started to pay attention to the financial news now!" He walked over and saw on her phone page a news of TOTAL 's acquisition of American technology company, with a picture of Mr. William's press conference.

"I'm bored, I just want to pass the time!" Laura Green said as she turned off her phone. Actually, the only way she could understand his current situation was to read the news. She thought that she had flew to America last time.

James Brook looked at her with a relaxed look. He wanted to stop talking. He wanted to advise her not to provoke that man, but he felt that it was unnecessary to say it.

After looking at the time, it was about to be Laura Green's turn to work. He could not help but said, "Call me if you have any trouble!"

Laura Green smiled and nodded. "I'm afraid I'm in trouble if you cover me!"

She came here part—time as a waiter for a while. First, because of the decent treatment, then again, James Brook had been singing at this bar for over a year. He was very famous. The managers here gave him face, so he treated Laura Greenwell. He also looked after her.

James Brook habitually rubbed her hair. Many people outside called for his name in unison, waiting for him to come on stage.

Laura Green pushed him and ridiculed, "Let's go, don't let the fans wait too long!"

James Brook said that he wanted to be a singer in the future.Laura Green firmly believed that he would.

After a while, the music sounded outside. James Brook sang an English song.

There were a lot of guests in the bar every night, but the VIP room on the top floor was able to separate the hustle and bustle.

Laura Green and the other waiter, Sarah, each carried wine into the two rooms. Laura Green came out soon after the wine was delivered. Inside, the two bosses were talking about business. Each of them had a glamorous lady to accompany her. She didn't have time to look at her.

The other side of the violin was not that fast anymore. Laura Green waited for her in the hallway outside.

The light in the aisle was dim. The door to the private room opened. A chubby man came out. Laura Green did not pay attention until the man stopped in front of her and was drunk.

"Miss Green, I thought I was dazzled. It turned out to be you!" Jackson Baker stood in front of her drunkenly, her face glowing red.

Laura Green was taken aback. Just as she wanted to retreat, he was quick to grab her arm.

"Let go of me!" Laura Green struggled hard, but he was caught tightly.

"Aren't you saying that you're married, your husband let you go to work in such a place?" Jackson ridiculed, "You might as well follow me, at least you can be an expensive wife!"

"My business doesn't need to be controlled by you!" Laura Green struggled and took out her phone to call James Brook, but he was snatched away and thrown to the ground.

"If you don't let go, I'll call the security guard!" Laura Green was completely angry.

"You're pretending to be less innocent. Let's set a price. I'll wrap you up tonight!"

The Sarah had just come out of the room.

Very quickly, the manager took the elevator up, followed by anxious James Brook.

When he stepped forward and saw that Jackson's fatty hand was still holding on to Laura, he felt anger.

"I'm your uncle!" He swore and punched Jackson's face.
