Chapter 23 I’m not patient in waiting for your answer
The man's hand trembled slightly, when Sage looked at him with a pair of piteous eyes and said, "Mr. Davis, I...".
Her mouth was open, but she didn't know what to say.
She could still clearly remember what she said last night. It was just over 20 hours, yet she had already reneged on her promise.
He got up and did not continue. "Sage Eudora, I'm not patient enough to wait for your answer. This is your last choice. Either you walk out from here now, or —"
He paused. "You took off your own clothes."
He got up and took a leave. He held a cigarette in his hand and lowered his head to light it.
In the midst of the smoke, Sage Eudora looked at the thin and cold expression on his face, tightly grabbing onto the collar of her clothes.
She did not speak, but walked out in her slippers.
Ellison Davis looked at her back, the corner of his mouth slightly stretched, coldly laughing, "This time you really escape fast."
Sage Eudora staggered down the stairs to the first floor. As the butler came out, he was stunned to see her, but did not say anything.
"Butler, please open the door for me."
She raised her hand to wipe her tears before turning to look at the butler.
"Miss Eudora, you —"
"Open the door for me, Mr. Perry, please!"
She did not let the butler continue. She turned her head and begged him with red eyes.
Mr. Perry sighed and helped her open the door.
The outside of the villa was pitch black.
Mr. Perry walked in front, Sage Eudora pulled up her clothes, glanced at the housekeeper, and walked into the night without looking back.
This was probably the toughest time in her twenty—two years of life.
Halfway there, she realized she didn't know where to go.
She stood blankly by the roadside, not even able to find her place.
From the villa to the orphanage, they had to be at least 20 kilometers away, and she didn't have a single cent on her. If she happened to meet with someone evil and cruel, she would have much worse situation than what Ellison asked her to do.
But she couldn't go back, either. Ellison Davis had said, his patience wasn't good, and this was her last chance.
Standing there for a while, she decided to crawl into the garden of someone else's villa to hide for the whole night.
The sun shone down. Sage Eudora finally opened her eyes.
It took her two minutes to remember what had happened last night.
She was pretty luck last night. This villa was not a place for people to stay often. The flowers and plants in the garden had all become barren. She stayed here until now, but no one chased her away.
She had been squatting in the corner. Then she got up, she fell back again.
She flipped out of the villa in a very messy state. Her hair was messy, and her white pajamas were stained everywhere. There was also a bloody scar on her left cheek.
Sage Eudora stood for a while, trying to figure out the direction before she was going to leave.
She heard the sound of a car behind her, and subconsciously squeezed to the side.
The black car drove past her and Sage Eudora subconsciously raised her head. When her gaze fell upon the license plate number, her entire body froze.
Inside the car, Ellison Davis looked at the woman in the rear—view mirror, his eyes slightly turned, and his eyelids moved, covering his cold and thin eyes.
Sage Eudora was afraid that the car would turn back, but clearly, she was thinking too much. The black car kept moving forward. In less than a minute, it had disappeared in her sight.
Relieved, she quickened her pace. She just wanted to get out of here.
