Chapter 3 Her Child has Died

After a while, Winnie was finally relieved to learn that her father had recovered and left the hospital. However, the father was still angry with her, which was only reasonable, and Winnie didn't blame anyone. Claudia sent her a certain amount of living expenses every month, which was enough to cover her expenses in London, so she was grateful in her heart.

Although Claudia had done some things that had put her in a bad situation, after so many days, she had chosen to forgive. Occasionally, Winnie would ask her about the child, Claudia straightforwardly said that when the child was older, she would better go back to the United States for a while, and when the child was born, she would not bring the child back to China anymore, lest the father looked at her and be annoyed. In response to Claudia's concerns, Winnie agreed with her.

When she learned that sister, Claudia, had given birth successfully, Winnie was also very happy. Winnie touched her rounded belly and often chanted, "Be good, when you are born, mommy will take good care of you and never let you suffer a bit." Since her mother abandoned her, Winnie has been up and down for half her life so she would never let her child repeat that mistake.

Claudia came to the UK after giving birth, saying that Winnie was about to give birth and she wouldn't let Winnie stay here alone. In response, Winnie was moved. "Sister, are you okay? Your child......."

"It's okay. Don't worry. I'm worried about you now. You need to have a good rest." Winnie had reached her due date and having a large belly, so it wasn't convenient for her to do anything. But at least she had gotten over it, and she was used to this kind of life.

Finally the bouts of pain began, Winnie experienced the greatest pain of childbirth. She struggled bitterly as if she was hanging down on the brink of life and death. It hurt so much that she couldn't help herself, and she even forgot to breathe, until she passed out. Later, Winnie often thought that it was not easy for her mother to give birth to herself with such great pain. Although she didn't know who the father of the child was, she loved the child.

When she waked up, she was exhausted and had no idea how long she had been unconscious. Looking at Claudia, she reluctantly opened her mouth and uttered a complete sentence, ''Claudia, where is my child? Is he okay? Is it a boy or a girl?"

Claudia didn't answer her right away, but instead, her face was calm and serious, but after a long time did she become gentle and calm, ''Winnie, calm down. Listen to me, you are young and you can have your child in the future, don't be too upset, it's not good for your health."

Claudia's words made Winnie feel puzzled, and she forcefully braced her body, wanting to ask why, "Sister, what do you mean? Why can't I understand it! Where is my child? Where is he? I'd like to meet him, okay?" After a ten-month pregnancy, she couldn't wait to meet him.

"Winnie, take it easy. If I tell you, you have to be relaxed and not too sad when you hear this. This poor child was born without breath. He was so young but he died." Claudia said with a gloomy face, a hint of essence shining in her deep sea-like eyes, but it was insidious. Winnie was completely absorbed in her thoughts and did not notice it.

Claudia's words were like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky! Died? Winnie vaguely caught this word and couldn't control herself. She had suffered a lot to give birth to this child, what happened!

"The doctor said you need to have a rest. Don't think too much about it, your own body matters." Claudia relieved her. Winnie smiled helplessly, but her dull eyes were filled with desperation, "Sister, I want to stay alone." Tears flowed down her entire face, she didn't know how long it would take to get rid of this nightmare...

In five years, more than one thousand eight hundred days and nights, she grew up from nineteen to twenty-four. The weather in London was changeable and it was difficult to predict it.

After a night of heavy rain and wind, this day in London, England, the sun was exceptionally bright, with London's temperate maritime climate. Winnie thought about a poem, "The first sun on the leaf dry the rain overnight", What's the next sentence? Ah... "the water is clear and round.

and the breeze rustles the lotus and leaves. My family was originally located in the southern part of the Yangtze River, but I have lived in the north for a long time. It's May again, and I wonder if my friends are missing me too? In the dream, I paddled a leafy canoe and broke into the lotus pond of that West Lake again."

When she was enjoyed this poem, an email sounded on the computer screen, and Winnie returned from her reverie, she couldn't help but shout out in excitement after she clicked on the email. "Ah!"

"Mommy, what are you doing? I am sleeping but you wake me up." Mickey Williams, wearing a messy "watermelon" haircut, with superman pajamas loosely over his body, rubbed his sleepy eyes with his fat arms and walked towards her, then climbed on her body unceremoniously.

Mickey was the child of Claudia, who was sent to the orphanage three years ago after Claudia and John separate from each other. Claudia didn't want the child and ordered Winnie not to tell his father. Winnie felt that she was cruel, thinking of her child she was heartbroken, then she persuaded Claudia and took the child back from the orphanage. Winnie had been abandoned once so she felt sympathy for him and deeply moved as suffering. She took him home and loved him very much.

Although Mickey was still young at the time, being abandoned had caused damage to his body and mind that was difficult to heal. He had mild autism and obsessive-compulsive disorder, so he rarely spoke in front of foreigners. Winnie once took him to see a doctor who said it was the shadow left in his childhood, so he closed part of his world. But maybe one day he would recover and face life with optimism and cheerfulness. But privately he was normal, he was extremely dependent on Winnie, he might be worried that Winnie would abandon him one day.

That was why Winnie loved this child. It was said that autistic children were intelligent and have their little world. Winnie was thankful that her baby allowed her to enter his world. Remembering a few times when her sister Claudia came to visit them, Mickey always kept away from Claudia and became silent all of a sudden.

Later, Winnie asked him if he didn't like Claudia, after all, Claudia was his mother, and could break up the relationship between mother and son.

As a result, Mickey told Winnie in a mature tone like an adult, "All over the world, I only love mommy Winnie."

With a sigh, Winnie brought back to herself and pinched his fleshy cheeks, ''I received the interview from King Group. You know, it's as difficult as finding a needle in the ocean! Look, how amazing Mommy is!" Winnie had just gotten her master's degree in business administration, and she had sent a few resumes, so she didn't expect she would have such good luck! After all these years, her father's health had not been good, and it was time for her to go back and visit her father. After all, her father had treated her well over the years. She reveled in her joy, and wondered if Mickey would be able to understand it.

"Mommy, are you going back?" Mickey asked. As if she had heard about the King Group from sister Claudia. It was a Chinese listed company whose main areas of operation were entertainment and cultural industries, electronic communication industries, and logistics. There was a bunch of other information, but she didn't remember it well.

"Yeah, I'll book a flight back home in a minute. Don't you want to go back with Mommy?" Then Winnie lifted him and put him on her lap and coaxed him to talk. She was also a little worried, afraid that Mickey would not be able to adapt to domestic life. Besides, he was five years old and at the age of kindergarten, so she wasn't sure if he wanted to adjust to group life at school.

Fortunately, the million that the man had left years ago had made her ease a lot. At least she didn't have to work part-time after class like her classmates, at least she could have enough time to take care of Mickey, at least she could take him to see a psychiatrist. It was a certainty that in those five or six years, she hadn't had to worry about money. In a way, wasn't she lucky? No wondered people say that while God closes a door, he opens a window for you.

"Wherever Mommy goes, Mickey goes." Mickey came closer to Winnie and kissed her cheek. The grape-like round, shiny eyes were turning with sure expression.

When she learned that Winnie was returning to China, Susan Scott was the happiest, and she couldn't stop herself from screaming with excitement on the phone. Of course, Winnie didn't inform the others, including Claudia because Claudia had always hinted, explicitly and implicitly, that it was best to stay in England. But returning home had always been a desire in her heart.

"Girl, when you come back, would you mind stay with me? So you needn't rent a house. I've been out and you can help me look after my house. But you need to promise that you don't admire my idol, who lived in the villa next to my house." Susan persuaded, exhorted, and warned. However, Winnie still agreed after thinking about it, because they could help each other in the future.

Winnie met Susan a few years ago in England. At the time, Susan was just a little girl who dreamed to be a star, but Winnie didn't realize that she became a relatively famous second-tier actress in two years. She occasionally played as important supporting female characters in the movie. If time permitted, she would become a superstar.
