Chapter 3 The Raymond Group

At the most prosperous area in city B where an inch of land valued thousand inches of gold, sat the Raymond Group who owned the city.

Raymond Group has been listed as one of the top ten outstanding enterprises across the country this year. Its assets and performance have been rising at a rocket-like rate every year. Growing from real estate, the group extended its business to more industries. Its status as the leading enterprises in city B or even in China is well deserved.

The figure who was too high to touch at the top of this pyramid is said to be Raymond Holmes.

Raymond's well-known deeds were familiar to everyone in City B. For Martha Evans, such man of the hour would always be the kind of character that can only be seen in newspapers and magazines.

He could be like heaven to touch.

But she was not reconciled. She was somewhat also a young woman who had just graduated from university with ambitious ambitions to build up her career. Thus, she sent her resume to Raymond Group's recruitment mailbox.

She graduated from a non-prestigious university with a rather weak family background where her parents worked as a fisherman. As comelier as she was, such appearance gave no edge at all to her over those numerous glamorous and flirtatious pretty in city B. After all, there were too many white-skinned and wealthy pretty with extraordinary diplomacy and profound family background who knew how to dress up these days.

However, Martha Evans thought herself as a person with aspirations. So, this time she won't cease to fight.

As expected, the resume that was thought to be a dead letter got a reply after three days: Sorry, you do not meet our recruitment requirements.

The result made her disheartened. She refused to accept such a rejection.

So, Martha Evans, who never gave up, decided to recommend himself. It was nothing wrong to win herself a chance.

This magnificent building of the Raymond Group is 58 stories high, inside which Martha Evans was stumped by the receptionist on the first floor.

"Miss, you can't go up without an appointment."

"Please, I have an interview up there. Please let me go up." Although Martha Evans put on her pitiful appearance, she knew that such trick of pretending to be pitiful was of no use to a woman.

"Which manager asked you to come?"

"Uh, uh, ah! That's right, President Holmes."

Surprised at first, the lady at the front desk showed suspicion and contempt after thinking about it: "Miss, our President never mind such trivial matters as recruiting."

Martha Evans supported the black-rimmed glasses on the nose bridge and felt that she took a wrong move. She didn't find a good way before she came today. Now she was asked dumbly and was debunked.

Her not-so-smart brain operated quickly. Facing the disgust and contempt looks of several "sturdy" front desk ladies, her face was slightly heated.

At this moment, she didn't feel at all that a scorching eye from somewhere behind her was staring at her.

"Chris, take her up, I'm going to interview her in person." The man who wore a sapphire blue suit more amazingly than the model grinned with an obscure smile at the corner of his mouth and said to the assistant beside him.

"President, it..." Chris Carter was shocked. When did the President take care of recruiting talent? It was his legendary boss who could make millions in a minute.

"Never ask why." The man left the sentence indifferently and turned to the elevator.

While Martha Evans was also still trying to force herself to fight again, the expressions of the ladies at the front desk instantly turned respectful, of course, to someone behind her.

"Assistant Carter, good morning." Just in an flash, all of them smiled like pretty and coquettish flowers.

Acting like a leader, Chris Carter pointed at Martha Evans: "This person, I want to take her."

Before she hadn't responded, Martha Evans was invited like in a dream to the highest level of the "Pyramid", which is the conference room of the office of the President, accompanied by the dumbfounded looks on the ladies at the front desk.

"Miss Wen, please wait for a moment. The President will be here later." Chris Carter said politely and retreated.

Martha Evans felt quite thrilled as she had just made that up, but to her surprise the assistant Carter just believed her?

Hold on, was their President the legendary big shot, Raymond Holmes?
