Chapter 8 A carefully prepared dinner
Mia was a realistic person.
It was said for her own good, but Shelby didn't want that: "It's fine on my own."
Mia seemed to have a mouthful of blood stuck in her throat.
Shelby thought about the dinner, and without saying a few words to Mia, she hurriedly put on her mask and went to the vegetable market.
After buying the food, I went back to the Orchid Garden.
Four courses and one soup were made. It was already 7 O'clock.
She nestled in the sofa, waiting for Jackson.
Waiting and waiting, she unconsciously fell asleep.
By the time she woke up again, it was past 11:00p.m.
Jackson didn't return.
Maid Lee, who came out for water, found the living room still lit, and came over to find that it was actually Shelby, who was still guarding the return of Mister.
On the other side of the table still lay a cold, untouched bite of the meal.
She winced in her heart.
Immediately she wanted to give herself a slap.
She guiltily persuaded Shelby, "Miss King, it's already late, I guess Mr. is still busy in the company, why don't you go to bed early?"
Shelby revealed a shallow smile, "It doesn't matter, I've been sleeping late these days too."
Maid Lee was even more upset to hear it.
Shelby saw it.
She got up and went upstairs, back to the bedroom.
She didn't hold back a cough that covered her unbearable chest.
She had a fever and took the medicine.
It was just that she was too weak to resist and too slow to get well.
Even if it didn't burn, the throat was dry and itchy.
She coughed up a faint smell of iron embroidery, not daring to think blindly, and forced herself to sleep with her eyes closed.
Drowsily asleep.
Waking up again, the phone buzzed.
She answered the phone in a daze and heard Mia excitedly tell her on the phone that the audition for Beauty Plan was successful.
The play first needed to be shot in A city for a month.
Shelby froze for a moment.
Looking out over the empty bedroom.
The pressure in her heart was unbearable.
She packed up fast, even as if she couldn't wait to get out of this prison pamper.
Before leaving, Maid Lee heartily urged her to take care of her health.
Maid Lee walked Shelby to the door. Not a moment later, Maid Lee heard some noise again, and thought Shelby forgot something, and ran to the door.
Upon seeing Jackson, she was stunned.
"Mister."
Jackson hadn't slept all night, his cold brows dyed with tiredness.
In order to set up the entertainment company, a board meeting was held overnight, the proposal was reviewed and finally a few important decisions were made in the early morning.
"Sir, would you like some breakfast?"
Jackson pinched his brows, his voice muffled, "She's still sleeping?"
Maid Lee replied, "Miss King got a part in a new play and just left."
She finished, not knowing if it was her own fault, felt Mr.'s face sank at once, as if extremely angry, yet with a hint of disappointment.
Jackson changed into a new outfit, didn't eat breakfast, and went straight back to the company.
Special Assistant Brown lamented that his boss was a workaholic and didn't take a good rest even when he went back, but really just to change his clothes.
What surprised him even more was that the previously cancelled trip abroad was also mentioned.
At the moment of departure, Special Assistant Brown felt the boss becoming more and more silent, sitting in the waiting room with his head down swiping his phone, vaguely like he was waiting for something.
One month later.
A city.
Shelby sat in the corner making up.
It was a costume drama.
The wind was blowing and everyone on and off the crew was at least a degree darker in complexion.
The result .......
Shelby did not change on skin at all, except that she was getting thinner and thinner, still fair and smooth, causing jealousy.
Mia pressed her voice and asked, "Another rivalry scene with Zoey today?"
Shelby let out a snort.
Looking at Zoey, who was surrounded by several assistants not far away, Mia pressed the corners of her eyes, her tone holding back the fire: "Don't be nervous, if she goes against the play, you come at your own pace."
Shelby looked at Mia amusedly, "I know."
Quickly, the director shouted to everyone in position.
