Chapter 6 Alone in the empty room

Special Assistant Brown was even more puzzled, the trip abroad was postponed, and the dinner was also postponed, is there something important for Mr. Johnson at this time?

That night.

Shelby took a special fever-reducing medicine, soon she felt sleepy and went to bed early.

Dazedly, she felt someone approaching with a familiar scent.

She subconsciously leaned over, and the nightmare that had haunted her for several nights never came back tonight.

The following day.

Shelby woke up with no one around.

She wavered, a distinct disappointment in her eyes.

She thought he'd come back last night.

It turned out to be a delusion of her own.

Mia called her about her audition today for a drama as a No.2 female.

It was a rare opportunity.

After all, Shelby's part in previous plays were all about unimportant characters.

Although excited, Mia could hear Shelby's voice was hoarse.

She was worried and asked if she was sick and she could find a way to postpone it for a few days.

In the past two years, Shelby was ill often. Sometimes overnight made her face frighteningly pale.

She was asked several times to check up.

But Shelby always said that it was a car accident when she was a child that caused her weakness.

"It's okay, maybe it's because I just woke up."

Shelby thought about Jackson hasn't come back for several days. It's easy to overthink always staying alone in the Orchid Garden and, it's good to find something to do to distract herself.

Hanging up the phone, she shuffled downstairs.

Maid Lee was preparing breakfast when she heard the sound and turned back, smiling kindly, "Miss King, you're up."

Shelby responded in a low voice.

She was making honey water while listened to Maid Lee, "Last night Mister came home quite late, and left in a hurry early this morning, I wonder if there is some urgent matter in the company."

She took a lurching step.

He came back?

Her beautiful eyes flowed with delight.

When Maid Lee saw Shelby holding the water cup and did not take a sip for a while, she guessed that she hadn't seen her husband for several days and was definitely worried.

But normally, Golden Dicola was always careful.

She suggested with a smile, "Why don't Miss King bring him the meal today?"

Shelby froze, "Bring the meal?"

Maid Lee nodded, "I saw that Mr. Lee looks quite thin this morning, so I guess he had been busy and forgot to eat on time lately. He has a stomach ailment, and if Miss King bring over the meal and remind him to eat, he will certainly eat on time."

This is a good idea.

Shelby was kind of into this.

But soon, she thought about what kind of identity she was going to use to go to the Heyday Group.

In the past two years, she had kept to her duties, and Jackson had never taken her to any formal occasions, let alone met his friends.

There were times when she wanted to call or go see him while she was missing him.

But every time this thought came to mind, she was afraid that he would not like it and it might end the relationship between the two.

Shelby's hand holding the cup grabbed slightly harder, lowering her head, her eyes dark: "Special Assistant Brown will remind him."

Maid Lee was just about to say how can that be the same?

But looking at Shelby's gloomy appearance, she opened her mouth, seemed to under something.

She said something deliberately cheerful: "bet that Mister will be back tonight."

Shelby let out a snort.

The atmosphere was somewhat subdued.

Feeling that she had done something bad in her own good heart and that she really cared for Shelby, Maid Lee thought about it and came up with an idea to let Shelby cook some dishes herself in the evening, thinking that Mister would be happy.

This idea, Shelby agreed in one second.

She had been living at her uncle's house since she was a child, so she knew her way around the kitchen quite well.

"Maid Lee, it's fine for me to prepare dinner, you can rest early today."

"The two have not seen each other for a while, a small farewell is better than a new marriage." Thought of this, Maid Lee smiled and agreed.
