Peter was the one who walked Kaira on the aisle.

Daniel's face was blank he had little to no expression on his face but sometimes he smiled for his mother and father.

Kaira was trying not to shiver as she was walking Peter.

This was wrong, this was so wrong, but she was still ready to do anything to save Daniel's reputation.

Very soon she stood in front of Daniel, and soon the wedding vows were read,

"I now announce you two as the husband and wife, you may kiss the bride," the priest said.

Kaira's face was covered by the wat veil, and Daniel didn't completely disclose her face he lifted her veil slightly before kissing her.

But the kiss was painful and he felt disgusted but Kaira felt butterflies in her stomach while her heart was close to bursting out from her chest.

The kiss was over soon, Kaira then snaked her hand around Daniel's forearm and the two walked back.

Daniel smile when he saw the media and his parents.

"You will get the contract papers soon." Daniel said once he and Kaira were seated in the car, "All the terms and conditions will be stated in them read them and then sign them."

Kaira nodded, "Fine...and what are you going to say to your parents?"

Daniel sighed, "I will tell them the truth."

"And what if I have to deal with them?"

Daniel looked at her and she smirked, "For dealing with your parents and for listening to all their taunts and insults I will charge extra."

Daniel rolled his eyes and sighed, "Yeah, fine...I will talk to them once we go home."

Once they reached home they were welcomed by Daniel's parents, Vivian and Raymond Hughes.

But their smiles and welcoming attitude vanished once they saw Kaira over there.

"You!" Vivian yelled as she saw Kaira's face, "Why are you here? and where is Eva, what did you do to her?"

Kaira sighed, but maintained a neutral expression while Daniel felt headache creeping, "I am asking something what's going on?"

"What is the meaning of this Daniel?" Raymond, Daniel's father asked in his firm and authoritative voice.

And after some time Kaira finally spoke, "Eva, ran away with someone else...and to save his reputation he begged me to marry him."

Vivian was shocked and she took a step back while Raymond had the same reaction as her.

"Ran away? when and why? you should have told us, Daniel." Vivian spoke.

Raymond also came forwards, "Yes, Daniel you should have told us, how can you hide something so important?"

Daniel sighed, "Mom, Dad I didn't have any time to tell you after Eva ran away I was in shock and I needed a substitute as soon as possible because the word had got out then it would be very bad for our family's reputation."

Vivian placed a hand on her forehead as she said, "But the son of you have told us then we would have arranged someone better, someone, who is not her."

She then looked at Kaira with disgust, "She is the daughter of a mistress, she has no background or reputation, she is not worthy to be the daughter-in-law of the Hughes family."

Kairaclenched her fist but maintained a neutral expression on her face, while Daniel spoke, "Mom what's done is done and it cannot be changed and she is not going to live here permanently.

As soon as I find Eva I am going to leave her, it's just a matter of a few days. And besides, all the relatives and family friends are here, we can't do anything."

Vivian wanted to say something but Raymond placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her.

"Daniel is right, we should tolerate her for a few seconds once the ceremony and everything are over, we will decide what to do."

And so the ceremony began, Kaira and Daniel met with the guests and did all the formalities.

Daniel felt empty and his heart clenched because he wanted to do all these things with Eva and not someone else.

While Kaira felt a little happy, but at the same time, she was overwhelmed with guilt, guilt for feeling relieved and happy because of Daniel's misery.

The path was going to be very tough and they might separate in the future, but for now, Kaira wants to live her life with Daniel and make every moment memorable.

And after the ceremony was over Daniel sat down quietly in a room he felt a headache.

Kaira noticed that he was in pain, so she offered him a glass of water, "You should drink and eat something, it's not good for you to take so much stress on an empty stomach."

Daniel suddenly felt anger he grabbed the glass and threw it on the floor which shocked Kairaand her eyes widened.

Daniel then grabbed her hand and pressed her against the wall her hands were pinned against her head, she felt her back colliding with the wall and she felt pain.

She closed her eyes because of the impact while Daniel's face was very close to her she could feel his hot breath on her face and his rage-filled eyes.

"Don't you dare to act all caring, when you don't give a damn you must be happy you finally got to marry me but just know one thing I will never love a woman like you?

For me, you are just a substitute, a replacement."

Tears filled her eyes as she felt the pain, on her wrist because Daniel was holding them too tightly but the pain from his words was too much to handle.

Each and every word that Daniel said was a knife stabbing her heart again and again.

"Let go of my hand you are hurting me."

"Oh...giving up so soon huh? I remember your slap and just I had promised I will make your life and I will keep my promise no matter what...Kaira Smith welcome to hell."

With that he harshly pushed her and let go of her hand, tears finally escaped her eyes while he looked at her with anger and disgust.
