WAITING FOR DEATH

RAQUEL

She ran in the woods like her life depended on it, but no matter how fast she ran, it seemed as though she was just a meter away from the beast.

As she was running, she was looking backwards only to find the big wild chasing her like she was a better prey for food.

Raquel was getting weak, her legs was going to give up any minute from now, and she would surely become his feast of fury.

She had to do something, she can't keep running like the damn coward she became since two days ago. But how was she supposed to stop him now, for goodness sake!

Raquel immediately stopped on her tracks. Everyone is going to die anyway just that nobody want to die in the hands of a beast, because they won't respect your body, but tear it into a thousand pieces.

She slowly turned around to see the beast who had suddenly stopped running too, he was watching her, like he did the other day.

She heaved a long sigh, and walked a bit closer to the beast.

“This is it right, I get it. But if I were you, I wouldn't leave such a sumptuous meal for a tiny girl like me who has been skinny since the day she was born.”

She watched the beast, but he wasn't saying anything. Was he kidding her? He almost had her lips in a bind two days ago, and now he's going to act like he knew nothing about what she was saying.

"Are you not going to say anything or at least change back into your human form? I know you are a werewolf, and you can become a human, just like you did when you tried to bind me, remember?”

Raquel watched the beast, whose eyes seemed like he was amused about what she was saying, or maybe she must have really been crazy to think that she could read his expression.

She stood watching him, he doesn't seem to want to make a move towards her which made her wonder what he was planning this time.

“Well huh... If you think you are going to make me forget myself before you devour me, then you can as well sink your fangs in my neck like you did to the panda. It's easier that way, so I would die quickly.”

Silence from the wolf was all she got. Yea right, she didn't expect him to listen to her anyway.

To her greatest shock, the big black wolf suddenly bellowed, brought his huge form to the ground, where he curled himself on the ground, deep in the middle of the woods.

The wolf must surely be kidding her, what was this it is trying to do?

She watched him quietly, laying on the floor relaxed like there was nothing going on, while she was almost peeing in her pants.

She couldn't tell for how long she stood watching the beast, but her legs were killing her, so bruised, and right now, the blisters are beginning to swell and become very painful.

She slowly brought herself on the ground, and fortunately, there was a tree behind her, so she leaned against the tree with her blistered legs, widely stretched on the floor.

Raquel refused to take her eyes away from the beast for fear that he might use the opportunity to devour her. As far as she knows, she could not tell what the beastly wolf was planning.

On the other hand, the beast watched her curiously, like he actually wanted to see if she was going to escape or not. And hell! She would the moment he closes his eyes.

She only knows this about dogs, that when they feel tired and want to sleep, they curl themselves on the floor and sleep, minutes later.

She would be a fool to think that it is the same with the wolf in front of her. If he was going to sleep, then he should have done that some minutes ago. This is more than an hour, but he's still fully awake.

Meanwhile, she had begun to feel really sick now, her legs have become so swollen that she wondered if she will ever be able to use it in running away.

Maybe she should just give up now, and let the beast have her. Besides, there's no hope that her colleagues or the head officers will come to save her.

She was a lost cause. But then what about her parents, how were they going to cope if she ever died in the hands of the beast? Will they ever know how she died? She doubts they would ever think she was going to die this way.

What a horrible way to die. Tears began running down began running down her cheeks. It's all her fault that things have become this way. She should never have come to the headquarters, now she's going to die for her very own decision.

Her parents fully warned her never to come this way, but her stubborn nature would never let her listen to her parents.

For the very first time, she began crying with a sob like a little girl.

How terrible it would have been if her colleagues were to see her crying like a little girl. But who wouldn't cry in her predicament.

She slowly tilted her head to the wolf, who seemed not to be the least affected by her cries.

What was she expecting, he was a beast and beast like him do not relate to human emotions. She's only heard about the wolves in human form but had no idea she will come across the worse.

She doubts if there was any wolf in the city who looked as big as he was. Or maybe he was this big because he ate raw and full wild animals.

Raquel filled her head with so much thought, that she could not control how heavy her eyes was becoming by each passing minute.

Until she finally closed her eyes fully.

Besides, she had already made up her mind to be killed by the wolf. So, closing her eyes will only make her death quicker and less painful.
