Chapter 1

Lillian is sitting in her seat listening to the class.

She is almost on the verge of sleep. But she is controlling a lot.

But it is not her fault.

The class is so boring that she is getting sleep.

She is forcefully opening her eyes and pretending to be listening.

Her sir is very strict. His classes are boring, but he is strict. If he sees her sleeping, he will kill her.

After five minutes, the class has completed.

Lillian felt like she got her freedom. But surprisingly, her sleep disappeared after she came out of the class.

Outside the class, her friend is waiting for her.

She is not her classmate. But she is her best friend.

Olivia is her childhood friend. They are not into the same stream. Lillian likes architectural designing and Olivia is interested in journalism.

So, there both classes are different.

When Olivia saw Lillian coming outside, she said, “Now you are out of that boring class?”

Lillian nodded her head and said, “Yes, anyway. In just one month, I am going to complete my graduation. So, no worries.”

They both went to the canteen and ordered lemonade.

The sun is so hot today. So, they thought they will quench their thirst through it.

The waiter brought the lemonade and gave it to them.

Olivia took the sip of it and said, “In one month we will complete our graduation. Then we will become graduates. I was thinking about going for further studies to B city.”

Lilian smiled and did not say anything.

Olivia said, “I am going to B city. What about you?”

She asked Lillian to know her plans. But she kept quiet.

Lillian said, “No, Olivia. I will search for a job.”

Olivia said, “Hey, why are you not going for further studies. You have talent. I think you'll become a great architectural designer if you complete your further studies.”

Lillian is very good at her studies. She is first in her class. So, Olivia feels that if she studies further, she will be best in her field."

Lillian said, “I know Olivia. But you also know about my mother, right. She is living for me.”

“I know how much she has gone through, so much to compensate my college fees. So, I am thinking that if I search for a job, it will be helpful for her.”

“She has been through so much to provide me to my needs. So, I think it is now my turn to take care of her.”

“I know that if I join any company I can earn a good amount with which I can take care of my mother without any problem.”

Olivia nodded her head.

Yes, she also knew about it.

Lillian lost her father when she is 5 years old.

He died in an accident.

Her mother got devastated when he was dead.

They loved for five years and married after that.

Her father used to love her mother so much.

But at once she lost him.

Since then, everything changed.

Nothing was just as before.

The responsibility fell on the shoulders of her mother.

From that day onwards, her mother worked very hard to provide her with everything.

She worked in the hospital as a nurse.

She worked more than one shift to meet their needs.

But she has provided everything Lillian asked for.

Good education, food, and clothing. Everything she provided.

Never did she say 'no' to whatever Lillian asked.

She knew how much she has gone through to give those to her.

She even sacrificed her needs for her.

Her grandparents and her mother's parents asked her to remarry again.

They said that she also requires a partner to love and to take care of her.

But she never considered having a life partner.

Because she is afraid that if she married another man, he will surely become her husband. But he won't become a father to her.

He won't give the love of a father to Lillian. That is why she chose to be alone for her life.

She thought she will see her daughter and live the rest of her life for her.

She dedicated her life to her.

So, Lillian feels that now it is her turn to work hard and give whatever her mother wants.

It is her turn to repay her love and hard work.

So, she decided that she won't go to further studies.

Olivia said, “Lillian, I always thought that you are very lucky to get a mother like your mother. But I now feel that your mother is luckier to have a daughter like you.”

Lilian shook her head and said, “Okay, thank you. I also think that you are lucky to have a friend like me. Right?”

Olivia looked at Lillian and laughed out loudly. She slapped her on the arm.

She said, “No, I feel very unlucky to get a boring friend like you.”

Lillian frowned and asked, “what?”

Olivia said, “Then what? I have asked you so many times to come to the pub with me. But you never came.”

“You need to enjoy it sometimes.”

Lillian smiled and said, “Actually, you know that I will never get spare time. I will take tuition in the evenings and morning I will be busy with college. Then when I will get time to go with you. Anyway, I promise you that one day I will come with you to the pub.”

Olivia snorted and said, "okay let us see.”

Lillian bent down and saw the watch. It is already time for her to go to the tuition.

She takes home tuition so that she can earn some money to support her mother.

Lillian said, “okay, I think now I have to leave. My student will be waiting for me.”

She said this took her bag to leave. She left from there.

Olivia thought, “I never saw a more hardworking woman than you. I wish God gifts you the best life and life partner in the future.”
