Chapter 3 Ma'am, It's Okay

As the room suddenly quieted down, Chelsea felt the danger belatedly.

Just now, she was in such a hurry that she didn't notice that this man was drunk.

Drunk men were dangerous, even though he looked like a gentleman.

She intended to pull back, but the man folded her in his arms and kissed her on the lips.

Then…

She was tossed to the soft king-size bed.

"You're the reward I want." The man croaked.

A sharp pain soon hit her. She was caught in the vortex created by him.

...

The following day.

Chelsea opened her eyes and saw bright sunlight.

The pitter-patter of running water came from the bathroom. She turned her head, looked over, and saw an upright silhouette behind the frosted glass door.

It was the man from last night.

What happened last night resurfaced in her mind, and tears crawled all over her face. Despite her sorrow, Chelsea pulled on her clothes.

She should leave as soon as she could. After all, she was a married woman.

Ironically, the one who sent her to a stranger's bed was Morrel, who married her five years ago.

Chelsea ran away in a hurry. Oblivious to the red light, she rushed out of the road.

Screech…

A black Rolls-Royce braked hard, its tires scraping the ground. It was a close shave.

"What's wrong?" A childish voice came out.

In the backseat of the car sat a pretty boy. His features were sculpted and his face straight. He looked more mature than his age.

The driver replied hurriedly, "A woman suddenly rushed out. Sir, are you all right?"

"Yeah, go take a look."

Colby complied quickly as he opened the car door and got off.

William Lynch folded his palmtop, felt bored, and looked out of the window until his eyes landed on the woman on the ground.

Colby walked over, asking, "Ma'am, are you all right?"

When the car rushed over, Chelsea fell to the ground out of fear. Her body ached even more, and what she was trying hard to forget resurfaced in her mind.

Devastated, she covered her face and howled.

"Wipe your tears."

A white handkerchief was handed to her.

Chelsea raised her eyes and saw a boy four, five years old standing in front of her.

He was wearing a white suit and a bow tie. His temperament was reserved and noble.

The boy looked at the dazed woman and wiped her tears gently with the handkerchief.

"Thanks." Chelsea came to her senses and hurriedly took it to wipe off her tears. After collecting herself, she started to feel embarrassed, "Sorry, I was too careless."

William frowned at her bleeding knee, "Does it hurt?"

Only then did Chelsea notice her bleeding. She didn't mind it. Compared with the pain in her heart, it was nothing.

William looked at her wry face, suddenly bent down, blew air to her wound, and coaxed her gently, "Don't cry."

Chelsea almost lost control of her emotions.

To her greatest surprise, the first person who showed concern for her all these years was a boy that she had never met before!

William looked at her sad face, sighed helplessly, and wrapped his arms around her, "Ma'am, it's okay."

Chelsea hugged him back and burst into tears. The milky smell from his body reminded her of her four-year-old son and what Elise said earlier.

She suddenly felt anxious to figure things out.

"Little boy, thank you, I should go." Chelsea said reluctantly.

William couldn't help but follow her for a few steps and watched her leave. He really liked this lady.

Colby checked the boy, "Sir, it's dangerous for you to approach strangers. What if she has ill intentions?"

William's face fell slightly, "Are you questioning my judgment?"

Colby's heart trembled. Just then, the deep voice of a man came over, "William, are you kicking up a fuss again?"
