Original>The Hybrid She-wolf>Chapter five.
Chapter five.
Anthony's POV.
I'm left alone. The sound of the air, swooshing outside reaches my sensitive ears. One thing I've learnt so far being a Werewolf is to never not take in your surrounding. You always must. That's even my number one training to the little wolves, just about turning into real wolves.
By this coming moon, we'll have new real wolves that will be our asset to prolonging our race. The Humans hate us. They believe in this rumour that makes my stomach wants to turn. I just won't understand how they'll be fed such lies, and they'll believe.
The Hunters have turned us against them. In the past years, we all used to be allies. The Werewolves will walk amongst the humans, and vice versa, and there will be no problem. Not now anymore. Things are destroyed. Nothing to savage anymore, but ourselves.
Hunters are very deadly. They are a kind of human specie that specifically hates us. They don't want us to roam on the surface of Earth. Any opportunity they have, it's to kill us.
They've been after our tail since long before I was even born. They were naturally our enemies as I see it.
Now, they have successfully make all Humans hate us. Hunters are humans too, but more violent and stronger than typical humans.
They don't mind war, they don't mind fighting against a wolf, or other supernatural creature there could be out there. The story of their evolution is quite long, which will be explained some other time.
At the current moment, Hunters now possesses that gene that makes them capable of taking down even Alpha. They can fight one on one without weapons, yet they could win. They are just that gifted. The line of hatred that forges in their heart has built them with such vile that they would fight with all their might just to kill Weres.
I hadn't noticed sooner that my forehead are now wrinkled, which makes me stop thinking and straighten out the bridge of my nose. I breath out again, my face heavenwards.
My sensitive ears picks up the sound of shoes clicking, before my wolf so expertly lingers out to perceive the scent of the incoming. The smell of cinnamon, and pine invades my senses along with the scent of forest, making me smile as the door open. By then, I've known who's there.
"And look who comes in after those stupid old mens went out." I tease, and laugh afterwards.
"Let them hear you, and tonight, you will be bethrall."
"Which I so much don't want to happen." My voice is low, faking pleads. When I stop, I laugh, and my accompany joins in.
He stops amusing, and stares at me, "what are they here for again?" Now, he is serious.
"Ahhhh, just the usual, Nelly. The same talk." I mock.
Shaking his head, his blonde hair falls to his forehead, and his honey-tanned fingers comes to swipe it back up. Nelly is my beta, but at the same time, he's my best friend. He is so good at comforting me, and aiding in my needs. He's all I have as closest family, second to him is the pack.
His sharp features are folding as he thinks, and walk over to me. At the same time, I take a pace to the dining table, and pour myself and him a drink.
Grabbing both glass cups, I pass one to him when he start to speak out his mind, concerning this problem. "I don't trust those three. They look dangerous, and the fact that neither of couldn't see into their mind is conflicting. They can be powerful, but that doesn't mean that their mind should be completely blocked. And neither should their scent be impossible to sniff. We seem to be hiding something. They can't even come up with a fine excuse when they were no where to be seen during the war."
I chuckle, after gulping down the wine. The sweet taste seep richly into my tongue, making me lick them against the corners of my mouth, and resulting, it made a smacking sound.
"I have the same in mind, Nelly. I'm so fed up of them. Can you believe they're giving me four months to find my mate, or else they overthrow me, or find me a mate?"
I hadn't expected him to laugh, there must be a naughty thought inside his head. "yeah, they'll find you a chump."
"You're such a bad guy." I say, but laugh along with him.
Taking a seat on the chair, I sink into it, and exhale deeply. "I need a rest, man."
"If only you had listened to me."
Excuse me? What does me mean now?
"That?" I drawl. My face is asking.
"You need a tour. You need to live amongst the Humans, enjoy bit of freedom, not stay here all day and act like a jerk. You even look old-fashioned since you have no one to impress." He points that out to my discomfort, and I groan.
And there you were, saying that to someone when you are no difference. My wolf is full of sarcastic remark at the moment. I can't believe he'll find happiness at teasing me. Ugh.
"So, what are you proposing?" If I say I don't know what he's proposing, I'm lying to myself.
"That we go to the human territory. You'll love their city. Hmm..." Just the time for him to go thoughtful, because it gives me time to think as well.
If I go to the human territory, nothing I don't want to happen will not happen to the pack. They'll be fine. Thinking about it again, for what reason will I go there? What will I even be doing there? No paperwork to work on. No strategy to make for next moves. No people to control to do what is right.
"I got it." And my thoughts were wrecked. "We'll stay in Seattle. And I know a town near that city where you'll find the best coffee and teas. You'll love the life, I promise."
"You promise." I make adamant. He nods and I think it through again. "okay."
"Fine. You should go get ready." With that being said, I drop my cup, and walk out the room, my gait lazy. Behind me, I can hear Nelly chuckling. He can tease all he wants. He just watch what I'll do to him if things don't work out as he had fumbled.
