Fantasy Romance>The Wolfless Alpha's Masquerade>CHAPTER 5
CHAPTER 5
“Leave the bandage, my scars are not healed, and I don’t think it a good idea to have something either than the bandage touching it.
After the mask is in position Arne looked at himself in the mirror, “I look great, one can’t even tell there is a beast under here.”
“You are not a beast, your face will be ready to operate on in no time,” the nurse says not sure if he believes himself as he does not know how bad Arne’s face look but going by the wounds on his body, he can imagine that it must look truly bad.
Being on the top floor of the castle and near the helicopter pad Arne could hear the helicopters coming and going, “guests must be arriving. Wonder if I should meet them now or wait for the ball to be in full swing?”
It has been three weeks of elaborated Masquerade balls with no mating bond.
“Perhaps there is no wolf-mate for our son,” Anese says with tears in her eyes to her dying husband that is in a coma. Anese often visited her husband and spoke to him, not really caring if he can hear her or not.
“Mam, the guest is about to arrive,” a soft voice accompanied by a soft knock came from the door. Anese wiped of her tears before turning around.
“Come, dear, help me fix up my makeup,” Anese orders the omega nurse.
After her makeup is fixed Anese made her way to the Ballroom where they have the Masquerade balls every week.
The Masquerade ball is in full swing when Anese noticed Arne lounging at one of the sitting areas enjoying the company of another man.
“How will you find a mate if you are sitting over here?” Anese asks angrily. After getting no response she stomps her foot in frustration and worked the room, sending one girl after the other to go talk to Arne.
What Anese didn’t know is that the nurse she hired for Arne three weeks ago is wearing Arne’s mask as Arne decided that it is useless and that he will not find a mate.
A university dorm room not so far away from the castle.
“Where are you going?” Bailey asks her roommate that is busy slipping into a sexy little black dress.
“To a Masquerade ball, my parents are forcing me.”
“Sounds like fun,” Bailey picks up the lace black mask and puts it on her face.
“I really don’t want to know but tonight is my pack’s turn to meet the notorious bachelor Arne,” Bailey’s roommate says turning her back to Bailey so that Bailey can zip her up.
“Really, a Masquerade ball sounds like fun but why a Masquerade ball?” Bailey asks, zipping her roommate's zip up. Bailey is not surprised about the mention of Werewolves as she one night witnesses her roommate shift into her Werewolf form and has sworn not to tell a soul. At first, Bailey was shocked and in disbelieve but since then she has met other pack members of her roommate and even went to their family home once.
“Here, the ball is at the castle,” Bailey’s roommate shoves the mask into Bailey’s hands.
“Are you for real? Won't they know that I am not one of your kind?”
“There will be so many wolves there they won’t be able to tell if there is one human amongst them,” Bailey’s roommate says before leaving their room.
Bailey put the black lace masks over her silver-grey eyes with a hint of blue. Bailey gathers her long blond hair and lifts it into a messy bun above her head with her free hand, ‘up or down?’
Bailey goes to her closet to see if she had anything fancy enough to wear to a Masquerade ball but discovered that her closet is as boring as the day, she started University. Bailey looks over to her roommate’s closet, “mmm, I wonder if one of her dresses will fit me.”
Bailey browses through her roommate’s dresses, ‘all of these look too small,’ Bailey thought. Bailey had a well-shaped body with a small waist, but her full breast and slightly larger rear end did not fit into her roommate’s clothing that had almost no breast and a flat bum.
“Ah-ha!” Bailey pulls a black dress that is made from a type of stretch fabric but had a satin shine to it with a princess cut over the bust area.
“It is going to be a tight fit but at least it is stretchy,” Bailey talks out loud to herself.
After Bailey wiggled herself into the dress and positioned her breast, she looked at herself in the mirror as she slips on a pair of black Christian Louboutin's Pigalle Pumps. Bailey is no ordinary girl, her wardrobe might be slightly boring but when it comes to shoes, handbags, and accessories she was on top of her game, how can she not be, her mother is a famous fashion stylist that style only the rich and famous of France.
Bailey didn’t need much makeup, but she did like a red lip. After she put on mascara and painted her lips red, she gathered her hair and allowed only one strand of lock fall to her face with the rest of her roughly tied up and turned over with hairpins.
She grabbed a red handbag and while she makes her way to the front door, she books an UberBlack. Bailey wondered if her roommate's pack members will recognize that it is her as she is like a head taller than her roommate.
Before she got into the Uber, she received a message from her roommate with a different address from the castle saying that a helicopter will collect her from the location and take her to the castle.
Bailey changes the address on the Uber app, “please check, the address has changed.”
“Noted. You look really great by the way,” the Uber drive acknowledge her beauty.
“Thank you.”
