Chap - 1 Being special

Narrator's POV:

It was just another beautiful day. Birds chirruping; cool breeze teasing the travelers on the streets; sun feeling lazy to show his face and hides behind the clouds; people getting ready to face another busy day, it was just another beautiful day.

Caroline Brian, in her top of her voice, howled, "Raizaaa...!!! It is time now! Get your ass up from your damn bed right now! Get yourself ready before I make my mind to reach your room door!" This voice - may be just few houses in the blocks would have heard. Only few kids across the streets in the next couple of blocks would have had a sudden shock. When Caroline notices things not going in her designed way, of course, this was how a day would typically begin at Brian's and the households in their neighborhood.

Raiza shook off from her bed all of the sudden, hearing the thunder noise. She rubbed her eyes and viewed her balcony through the window. With no rains or lightning, she realized it was not the thunder but was her mom's yell. She came back from her dreams, accepting the reality. Searching for the alarm that she had set last night, she learned that the alarm beep had no effect on her sleep and auto snoozed after the set time. She had a quick thought of resetting the alarm sound to her Mom's voice, which she was so sure would clearly wake her up even in deep sleep. Raiza loves herself for her smartness and quick wittiness by all means.

Resetting the alarm sound, she got up to get herself ready for another interesting day. She walked down the stairs to the table where breakfast was served. Her brother, Zentan, a year younger than her grade, who brags being his mom's pet, was already dressed up and waiting to dine along with his father, Henzeth Brian. Brian's family had a healthy and heavy breakfast every morning. However, there was a tradition followed in the Brian's family to consume their specially grown onion and garlic cloves before touching anything from the spread on the table.

It is usual that teenagers never feel comfortable in having veggies. Obviously not onion or garlic for that matter. But, there was something untold about these veggies which was grown by Caroline Brian in her own roof top garden. The onions were always blood red in color and the layers inside were ranging in red hue. Garlic was as big as an elephant foot and the cloves were blue outside with deadly purple inside. Appearing for sure, that these are never found in any market across the town.

Though breakfast at Mr. Brians' had wide spread of items ranging from meat to blood of both herbivore and wild, hunted in the forests and hills by Brian's hunters twice in a week, Raiza never understood this practice about eating veggies in empty stomach every day. But had neither questioned her mom nor frowned at the veggies at any time till date, because she always felt an unsaid energy passing through her body with the intake of these two veggies that she never got to experience consuming any beef, pork, or hearts of elk and deer, few cooked and few raw, served at the table. This sense of satisfaction during every morning made her rest of the day interesting and sharpened her brain with fresh thoughts.

Ohh! Not forgetting to mention the quantity of food served, it would have popped the eyes out of anyone watching just the spread. The very thought of finishing all in one single meal would burst the stomach for sure. But Brians' were always calm and composed with the spread. Their cooks were well aware of the style and taste. They ensured the quantity of the food would always satisfy the Brian's hunger. Their hunger for food to keep them active all through the day, is enormous and the spread was always sufficient.

On completing the breakfast, Brian's family set out to their work. Henzeth Brian was a doctor and owned a clinic in the town. He was known for his lucky hands on surgeries and treating life-killing diseases. He has never prescribed medicine that were available outside his clinic. All prescribed medications were to be bought only in Henzeth's clinic. People from the town never complained about this but worshipped him for his goodness. They felt him the God sent Angel.

Caroline was a chemist and she led a team in the lab of a renowned hospital in the town. Caroline never wanted to set the lab at her husband's clinic for some reason. No one cared to ask her, though. The Brian couple were actually looked, made for each other.

Raiza and Zentan studied in the most prestigious school in the town, Caizon Elite High School. It was never an easy task for the parents from town to get admission here. It was a blessing, as considered, by the people to speak about this school and the students from here. There were always one-one interviews conducted with the kids before admitting them even for the elementary level. This was a peculiar practice followed only in Caizon Elite, that made everyone confused and crazy about this school. The Elite students were the best at both academics and sports. They astonishingly excelled in every activity.

Raiza and Zentan got on their bikes to ride to school which was quite near to their house. Caizon Elite had a big navy-blue gate. The path way leads to the parking and then to the school building. One would get amazed wondering if it was a school or a tourist spot. There were a number of trees, bushes and colorful flower garden decorating and spreading fresh air in the pathway. Caizon Elite had a sprawling campus. The foot ball pitch and basket ball court would appeal to the very audience urging to try becoming players.

The school building was green and white giving a pleasant feel to the students and staff. Even the lockers were painted in the same combo color. The building was huge. The hall way lead to the classes for various subjects and there were signs similar to the metro mentioning the direction to reach their destination for subjects. The classrooms were extra ordinary with the unique class resources that would help the teachers to handle subjects with ease.

However, the third floor was working only for selective students. It was for the students who had completed their 17 years of age and turn elite to understand themselves. Speaking of becoming elite, it means the individual would learn to understand themselves, their activities and them growing up. It was always creating curiosity for others, since nobody from the third floor would speak about the type of subjects or classes they are into. The teachers handling there were also different and never handled classes in the below floors. Their tearchers room was separate on their floor and so were the practical laboratories.

This was never known to the outside common-ites, anything about the school's insides. The parents of Caizon elite remained quiet when it was about school and their kids. Raiza had these thoughts popping in her head inside as when would she be a part of the elite group as she was nearing her 17th birthday in a couple of months. Both the siblings had talked a lot and discussed about this within themselves. During the family time, they were not so very comfortable discussing it with their parents since they knew that their parents were well aware of what was happening with them inside and outside the school and their daily routine. The kids waited for the elders to open up and discuss with them.

With these thoughts, Raiza parked her bike at the usual and ran inside the campus to meet her friends. They were Claryn, Sophie and Jules whom she considered as the best buddies. They were waiting for her at the entrance of the building. They shared their regular high-five and walked to their lockers. Claryn was her best of all from her group and she shared all her thoughts and secrets with him. Sophie and Jules were equally important in her friendzone and she would make every minute and opportunity special and memorable for all four of them. They din't share most of classes since Raiza was very much interested in Chemistry and Zoology inspired by both her parents, which the others thought was bit too much for them. and they had different interests. Yet, they never missed to meet during their lunch breaks at the school cafeteria.

They got their schedule carved in their mind and got their books from the lockers and started to walk to their respective classrooms. Just then, they saw girls in the hallway lit up with smiles and eagerness to grab attention and heard murmuring from the crowd. They just knew he had reached the school and was making his entrance. The none other, Natel, the most terrific and handsome boy of the school, was walking as though on a ramp along with his friends and his dearest Scarlet to their classes.

The three musketeers saw their best buddy and chuckled as Raiza was turning all red and sweet. She placed her hand on her fast pounding heart, trying to calm it down. Raiza was all crazy about Natel but would never admit at any time. She never understood this feel as to why would she melt by just seeing him at a distance or by hearing his name through someone. Raiza's craziness over Natel lied as the prime secret among the musketeers. Her buddies always understood that she had her own reasons and would figure out what to do with her feelings, since she was really smart. They would never push her into something she doesn't want to do. Raiza was the dearest to all in her group and to the entire school for the way she would support anybody who stood for the right and does thinngs that was helping others. She was all known for her sweetness. But today, there was a surprise waiting for them to understand their sweetest Raiza.
