Chapter 22 Who Else Did You Tie a Tie for
Jennifer took the tie, raised herself on tiptoe, and deftly tied the tie for him.
"You're skillful, tell me... who else did you tie a tie for?"
After the job was done... Ethan suddenly threw his arm around her waist. His breaths were scorching and his deep eyes fixed on her.
Jennifer tried to break free, but his grip was too tight.
The awful air about him was telling her that he would not let go until he got the answer.
Her eyelids drooped and her eyelashes trembled, "Someone once told me that he hoped his future wife would tie his tie every day before he went to work. Therefore, I practiced for a long time and learned it."
"I wanted to marry a man, be a good wife, and take care of him. For that teenage dream, I learned all the tying methods."
"I've never done this for anyone before. You're the first one." And the only one.
She learned it for him and certainly would not do it for other men.
She saw the man off. Against the hallway, he pressed her and kissed her frantically for a few minutes.
"A famous director is casting for his costume drama, and a supporting role hasn't been decided. Think about it, will you come to the party or not? Tell me your answer before five o'clock in the afternoon."
"Mm..." Jennifer nodded.
His message was clear.
As long as she agreed, the supporting role would be Daphne's for the taking.
If she refused, the opportunity would not wave at her sister.
Though aware of the trap, she had to jump into it.
Since Daphne just entered the entertainment circle, the main role would be too much for her. Her acting skills still needed to be honed, and a supporting role was perfect for her.
On her way to the study room, she passed by a pharmacy and stopped for a while. She intended... to have a bottle of contraceptives.
On second thought, she knew about her physical condition. It was hard for her to conceive again, so the pills were unnecessary.
At five o'clock in the evening, Jennifer texted Ethan, "I'll go to the party."
Ethan rotated his phone, cheered up, and texted back, "Where are you? I'll go pick you up."
"You go first. I'm halfway through my test paper. I'll arrive on time at seven o'clock." Jennifer replied.
Instead of insisting, Ethan went to the booth alone. Soon... Thurman and Curran also arrived.
"Where's Lucas?" Ethan asked them.
"Traffic jam, he'll be here in ten minutes." Answered Curran.
At ten to seven, the door was pushed open. Ethan held his breath and looked over.
Thurman and Curran also looked over at the door, waiting for Jennifer's arrival.
The door... opened.
"Ah, it's Lucas!" Curran sighed.
They thought it should be Ethan's woman and got ready to welcome her.
"What... disappointed to see me?"
Lucas Ogden glanced coldly at the three men on the sofa. The air about them was innately awful while their features were sculpted. At a glance, people would be held in awe.
Different from the cold Ethan, Lucas was cruel and aggressive by nature. Under the leadership of this iron-and-blood man... Ogden Group craved out its path and became a behemoth.
"Lucas, we thought Ethan's woman was here and got ready to welcome her." Curran explained.
Lucas arched his brow, "Why, didn't you meet her already? I should be the curious one."
Right after they met with Ethan and Jennifer yesterday, Thurman and Curran told Lucas about it. After all... it was a miracle for Ethan.
"We only got a glimpse. This time, we'll have a closer look." Curran reasoned.
As soon as his voice died away, he received a cold gaze from Ethan, "What, how will you have a closer look at my woman?"
Curran begged for mercy, "How would I dare! Ethan, it's a slip of tongue."
"Indeed." Ethan shook the wine in the goblet, "We're married. In other words, you should greet her respectfully."
Christ!
The three men were all shocked.
Ethan got married?
Back then... they were worried about his physical condition. He was never close to women and always went to dance parties alone.
All these years, the women around them changed frequently while Ethan had none.
Many rich ladies tried to court him bravely, but he turned them down coldly.
Now... they heard it from his mouth that he got married. Of course, they marveled at it.
This was sensational.
"I really didn't expect Ethan to be the first of us to get married." Lucas flicked the ashes from his cigarette and said in a surprised tone. The tough contour of his face hid behind the hazy smoke.
In contrast, Ethan was much calmer, "It's pretty normal. I've never thought of marrying any woman except her. It's just a matter of time."
On her way to the booth, Jennifer saw a manager leading a group of scantily-clad, voluptuous women in the corridor.
She had seen many beautiful women but had to admire their figures. Each of them was stunning.
She was ready to knock, but the manager and those women beat her to push open the door.
Then those women rushed to the men in the booth orderly. They started to pour the wine and do other work.
"Mr. Brooks, have fun, call me if you need anything." The manager flattered and left.
Jennifer saw what was happening in the booth. It happened that a voluptuous woman fell coquettishly into Ethan's arms.
On high heels, Jennifer got into the room. The hem of her white gauzy dress fluttered, and she looked like a fairy.
Unlike those sexy women, she was quiet, gorgeous, and refined.
In the white dress, she looked celestial and spotless.
Her orange lipstick added a lively touch to her beauty.
"Who is this woman... who let her in?"
