Chapter 21 Donna, So Lucky to Have You

Donna pouted and lowered her head without saying another word.

It made no difference for her. Whether it was under his instruction or the servants deliberately made things difficult for her, it didn't matter now.

The result was that she was starving.

She looked at the bread, trying to bite again, but the man fixed his eyes on her. She felt too embarrassed to bite.

Holding the bread, she hesitated!

While she was in a dilemma, the man suddenly grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the kitchen!

Donna staggered and almost fell.

Karl pulled her into the kitchen and opened the cabinet of ingredients, "Cook."

"Why?" Stunned, she then came back to her senses and declined hurriedly, "It's okay. The bread will do."

She was satisfied as long as her belly was filled.

She suddenly felt a stream of warmth in her heart. It seemed... this man was no longer that cruel.

She looked at him with her pretty eyes and got a strange feeling.

But his following words overturned her assumption. "I'm hungry; cook for me, you can continue to have your bread," Karl said indifferently.

"But you had dinner; why?" She didn't really like to cook for him.

She only cooked for Hamilton. How would she do it for other men!

"What, you have a problem with that?" His voice was full of hostility.

"I..."

Of course, she had a problem with it. In fact, she had a lot and wanted to kick him into the ocean!

Despite her indignation, she couldn't raise the roof and had to swallow her pride, "No problem."

"Then what are you waiting for?" His icy voice came over.

With a sullen face, she turned around to get the ingredients and cook for him.

She cooked a simple bowl of noodles with tomatoes and eggs.

While she was waiting for the water to boil, her mind wandered. In a daze, she looked blankly at the rising steam.

Her mind uncontrollably flashed back to the past...

"Hamilton, are you hungry? You didn't eat much tonight, and I've cooked you a bowl of noodles." She grinned at Hamilton and served a bowl of steaming noodles with vegetables.

"Donna, I'm so lucky to have you." Hamilton smelt the aroma and looked contented.

Leaning prone on the table, she watched him eat the noodles and reminded him with concern, "Hamilton, work is important, but you should rest properly. I don't want to see you overstretched."

"Donna, I want to work hard and develop the company. Then I'll be good enough to marry you." He grabbed her hand, his eyes full of affection.

"Hamilton, I'm not good enough for you. You're such an excellent man while I... I'm no longer the young lady of the Cole Family. My family is gone, and so are my parents." She lowered her head while her eyes were filled with sad mists.

"You still have me." Hamilton held her hand and said gently, "Donna, remember, I will always be by your side."

Hamilton was always so nice to her. She thought that she would live with him happily forever, but why... Hamilton...

She closed her eyes as the pain in her heart grew stronger, unaware that a pair of cold eyes had been fixed on her as if they swore to see her through.

"Donna!"

Startled by the man's gruesome voice, she turned around and met his gloomy eyes. Her heart sank, and her body trembled uneasily.

"What are you thinking? The water is boiling dry." He snapped.

Panic-stricken, she turned back.

She was immersed in the good memories of her miserable life, but his voice ruined everything. Now she needed to be gingerly even in recalling the past.

She picked up the noodles, put them in the pot, and stirred them with a spoon.

Behind her, the man's air prevailed and weighed her down.

While the noodles were steaming in the pot, Donna felt depressed. When she just tried to get the seasoning, the man held her from behind!

The small spoon slipped out of her hand and thudded on the floor. She felt like struck by lightning, "Let... let go of me!"

She was instinctively repulsive to the physical contact!

Instead of letting go, he frowned slightly, reached his hand into her clothes, and pinched her most delicate spot!

"Ah!" She groaned in pain, "Let go; I can't cook like this."

"Do your work; I won't drag you down." He lowered his head, rested his chin on her head, threw his arm around her waist to confine her, and continued to stroke her body unscrupulously with the other hand.

Beads of sweat seeped out of her forehead, and her body temperature rose rapidly. She closed her eyes to calm down, endured the discomfort and agony, and put the seasoning into the pot.

Distracted, she didn't know when she finished cooking. By then, when the gas was turned off, she collapsed feebly into his arms.

He held her steadily from behind.

She panted and glared at him resentfully.

Karl pinched her chin and snapped, "Look at me!"

She gritted her teeth and turned her head sideways!

By force, he pushed her head back. His eyes gloomy, he spoke coldly, "Were you like this when you cooked for Hamilton?"

Simmering with rage, she gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with a mixture of contempt, indignation, and other emotions. "He is way better than you and a gentleman who has never forced me to do anything." She shot back.

Hamilton had never crossed the line. He was gentle and sweet. When they got married, she planned to offer her chastity to him, unfortunately...

Her first sexual experience was not happy but a terrible nightmare. Her dreams of happiness were torn apart by this horrible man!

So far, she still couldn't understand why he treated her like this.

"A gentleman? A gentleman who did drug trafficking? Smuggling?" His contemptuous, cold laughter went into her ears.

His words seemingly pierced through all her persistence. Her heart hurt badly, but she gritted her teeth to prevent the tears from falling. "Let go!" She pushed the man, trying to get up.

With a thud, she collapsed to the hard floor. The fall shot a sharp pain through her arm.

Karl let her go but threw her to the floor so suddenly that she couldn't react in time.

"Ah!" She groaned in pain, gritted her teeth, and got to her feet.

Sitting at the table, he looked at her coldly.
