Chapter 6 She's Back for the Property!

Louise bent slightly, but when she backed to behind Selma, her glare at Tessa was just like a poisonous arrow.

"How are your father and uncles now?"

Selma took Tessa's hand and walked into the bedroom.

"I'm grateful for their help for the Wexler's all these years."

There was a trace of uneasiness and guilt in her eyes as she looked at Tessa.

Tessa smiled lightly. "Grandma, the Wexler's is also my home."

For her father's sake, she didn't embarrass Louise too much.

Reassured, Selma chatted for another while before she left.

In the afternoon, David Wexler, Old Mr. Wexler's second son, was dragged by his wife into the study as soon as he went back home.

Louise paced back and forth in the room, waving her hands and cursing Tessa for half an hour.

"Your mom asked me to apologize to her! Did I say anything wrong? Isn't she an ill-bred rustic?"

Her voice was very low, but her face was burning red with rage.

David tried to comfort her, "Mom is glad to see her granddaughter and feels sympathetic for her because she's from the countryside. Just tolerate her for some time."

But that was just like a catalyst pushing Louise to greater fury.

She must let him know her grievance!

"This is our home, not hers! But she didn't allow me to enter her bedroom!"

"That's not a big deal."

David got impatient.

"Didn't you say it's inauspicious? Why bother to go in there?"

"It's not a matter of a room! Do you know what she said today? She said this was her father's house!"

She almost screamed.

"I told you she was back for the property, but you didn't believe me!"

David sneered. "I also don't believe it now."

He was the owner of this house. Even if his elder brother was back, he was unlikely to take back the property, let alone a minor like Tessa.

Louise rolled her eyes.

"Do you know where she went today? Veronica Art Gallery!"

There was an exaggerated touch of fear in her voice as if she was telling a ghost story.

David asked, "Why did she go there?"

"Sure enough, she wanted to approach Vance King!"

"She? Approach Vance King?"

Finally drawing David's attention, Louise told the whole thing with embellished details.

"Fortunately, Vance got angry and drove her out."

David murmured, "She's too ambitious."

"Yes! Humph, who does she think she is?"

Louise kept babbling, "Do you remember the blond man who always comes here for her? He's obviously the one she's hooked up! If you don't do anything, she may even ruin Ashley's career!"

"Don't forget that your mom hasn't retired. She still holds some shares. Now that she's so nice to Tessa, doesn't she plan to give her shares to your brother?"

"I don't want to serve her for so many years for nothing..."

"And I'm pregnant now. It must be a boy this time, so I won't give the property to others..."

Bang!

David thumped on the desk.

"We can only drive her out of this family!"

...

Inside King Building...

With a piece of paper between his slender fingers, Vance was contemplating something.

Cold-faced as he was, he looked rather dashing with a pair of eyes that told stories.

Next to him, Michael gave his legs a massage.

Since he handed over the investigation report of that car, Mr. King had maintained this posture for a long time.

It was the car of the Wexler's where there was only a girl of that age.

What was Mr. King thinking about?
