"No, he didn't." Karen's figure was petite, a head shorter than that of Lorna. Being held in the other woman's arms, Karen reached out to touch her head, her eyes full of affection.

Upon hearing Jayden's name, a trace of disappointment flashed across Karen's eyes. However, she swiftly concealed it with a smile at Lorna.

Karen's soft and sweet voice made Lorna beam with joy. The next second, however, she said with a depressed expression on her face, "My brother is simply blind. How come my parents and uncles keep saying that he has a brilliant memory? You two met each other fifteen years ago. Why cannot he recognize you? If I hadn't called him for fear of an accident, you would not have become my assistant."

Karen revealed a smile. "It's been fifteen years, and I appear completely different from before. It would be strange if he could still recognize me. Anyway, we've only met each other several times."

When her face broke into a radiant smile, her eyes looked like two crescents. "Besides, I'm here to take care of you. It doesn't matter if he can recognize me or not as long as you can."

Lorna sat down while holding Karen's hand and said with a smile, "Of course I recognize you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have summoned the courage to go to the operating table. "I dare not do that." Holding Lorna's neck, Karen smiled while shaking her own head. "From now on, I am your personal assistant. I will be around you all the time. Even if you want to drive me away, I will not leave."

"That'll be lovely." Lorna put Karen down but was still reluctant to let go of her hand. "Have the affairs in your family been settled? The company has sent me your contract. From my perspective, we should just tell my brother that you are my friend from the sanatorium when I was a child and have met him before. That kind of cold employee contract isn't necessary at all. You are not our servant."

"It's a matter of fact that I am here to work for you." Karen interrupted Lorna with a smile, "Let's make an agreement first. I don't want your family to think that I'm here to ask you to pay me back. I just want to take care of you. It is already an honor for me to replace so many capable bodyguards. Save your wicked ideas. Otherwise, I can just break the contract and ignore you."

"Okay, then." Lorna glared at Karen helplessly. "People who come to our house all hope to get some benefits. You are the first one who doesn't have that kind of intention. It's a pity that my brother is not smart enough and did not recognize you. That idiot!"

Karen teased, "You don't have a problem with your brother, do you?"
