Chapter 6 Being Pampered

Sheldon ended the slapdash kiss without waiting for Christine's reaction.

Feeling satisfied, he lifted one hand to touch his lips and let out a light smile. "Good girl. I'm just exercising my rights as your husband."

Christine's reddened face directly turned pale in anger.

Sheldon gently patted Christine's head and whispered, "Don't overthink it. Be good and keep the fetus well."

Christine was speechless.

They were just getting to know each other, but the man had already taken intimate moves on her. How could she not overthink that?

Luckily, after seeing Christine finish the porridge, Sheldon left the ward.

Christine spent the next three days in the hospital because the fetus was in a slightly unstable condition.

Sheldon arranged Mrs. Jones to look after her during the period.

Kevin called her once and asked when she would be released from the hospital. He had prepared the divorce papers and was waiting for her to go to the local Civil Affairs Bureau together.

Lora and Kevin's parents did not show up.

After three days of recuperation, the doctor told her this morning that she was ready to be discharged. Also, she was reminded to maintain a stable state of mind in the first trimester of her pregnancy.

When she woke up from her afternoon nap, she began to pack up her belongings.

Mrs. Jones helped her with the packing. When it was almost done, Mrs. Jones suddenly told her, "Miss Smith, Mr. Collins has said that he'll come to pick you up."

Sheldon was coming to pick her up?

She did not intend to go with him!

At least for this time, she did not want to live with him.

However, no one could change Sheldon's mind or stop his action. When Christine and Mrs. Jones walked out of the hospital, they noticed his car immediately.

Christine got in the vehicle without hesitation as she knew the man was not going to give her another option.

She asked," Mr. Collins, it's a weekday today. Please could you give me a ride to the office?"

Sheldon answered, "Nope."

"Why?" Christine asked further.

"It's troublesome," replied Sheldon.

Christine tried hard to tamp down the flames of fury in her heart and asked, "So, where are you taking me?"

At this moment, her cell phone rang. It was from Kevin. She answered it with an indifferent expression.

"Christine, I heard you got discharged from the hospital, right? Come straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau. We'll get the divorce done. I have got all the divorce papers ready and am waiting for you."

Kevin's voice sounded anxious and imperative.

Christine curled up her lips and cast a glance at Sheldon in the driver's seat, saying, "You want to get the divorce papers now? I did have got discharged from the hospital, but I'm with Mr. Collins. He is unwilling to let me go. How am I supposed to do with that? Why don't you call him and ask for his opinion?"

Though she had decided to divorce Kevin, she was not going to do so today.

She had her own plans in mind.

"Christine, what does our divorce have to do with Mr. Collins? I'm telling you, come right over. You'll be given half an hour..."

Before Kevin could finish his words, Christine hung up.

At the same time, Sheldon started the car.

Christine's phone rang again, and it was still from Kevin. The woman blacklisted the caller without hesitation.

Then, she curled up her lips into a mocking smile. She did not think Kevin would dare to call Sheldon.

Sure enough, Sheldon's cell phone kept silent along the way.

Realizing that the car was heading towards the Blue Mountain Villa, Christine asked, "Are you taking me back home to pamper me?"

Her words were tinged with apparent hints of sarcasm.

Sheldon did not get mad. Instead, he replied, "What's wrong with pampering my fiancée and my child's Mom?"

Christine's mouth twitched. The man could easily put her in a speechless position.

After keeping her lips shut for a short while, she said, "Fair enough. Actually, I don't know where I am going to stay tonight. Your taking me home will fix that problem for me. That'll be great."

At her words, Sheldon looked at the woman from the rearview mirror. He initially thought she would be depressed for a good while. However, it seemed that she had recovered her fighting capacity and that he had underestimated her.

Kevin and his family also lived in the Blue Mountain Villa Area. They lived in Villa No.6 while Sheldon resided in Villa No. 16, which had the best location within the entire neighborhood.

The price and luxury of Villa No.16 were beyond the reach of No.6.

Kevin and his family had been keeping an eye on Sheldon and Christine. As soon as the car drove into the villa area, Christine spotted the three of them, as well as Lora, craning their necks to look over at them.

It seemed that she would have to confront Kevin this time.
