Chapter 4 That's No Good for You

Their seven years of love turned out to be a joke.

Ronnie's heart was bleeding, but she could not show her weakness in front of the two adulterers.

Who would care about her sad tears anyway?

Her weeping could only increase the pleasure of the man and woman before her eyes while making her loved ones feel pain for her.

In fact, Ronnie had very few loved ones left. Her grandfather was seriously ill and bedridden. After driving her mother and her out of the house, her father had promptly married his lover. Her mother had died when she was a child. She was just an outsider in the Pearson Family.

Ronnie had insisted on following his mother's surname in order to remind Wilfred Pearson of his ex-wife, who had given him everything but got driven out of the house by his heartless betrayal.

Upon hearing that Ronnie wanted to cancel the engagement, a trace of displeasure flashed across Leslie's eyes. He put on a patient expression and said, "Ronnie, I can explain."

"Don't call me Ronnie!" said Ronnie, raising her volume involuntarily.

The overreaction gave away her inner emotions. She sure could not control the sadness and anger deep inside.

"You make me sick. We'll break up. I don't want to have anything to do with you again!" She stared at the man and said with a grave expression on her face.

Witnessing Ronnie's agitation, Serena became smug and scornful. She had known from the very beginning that Ronnie was no match for her.

However, Serena was aware that she and Leslie could afford to make a big deal out of this or get Ronnie to call off the engagement. Otherwise, all their plans would be foiled.

Serena hurried to say, "Sis, listen to me. We drank too much last night, and Leslie mistook me for you because he missed and wanted you so much."

"Interesting. "Ronnie could not help but laugh out loud. What a shameless explanation the other woman had made. "Just because Leslie wanted me, you volunteered to let him fuck you? Oh, how great you are. What if other men want to fuck me? Will you offer your pussy to them as well?"

Serena turned scarlet and then white and was too embarrassed to make a reply.

Ronnie continued in an indifferent tone of voice, "Also, don't call me sis. I don't have a sister as shameless as you!"

Serena's chest heaved violently in anger, but she could not find a counterargument. Helplessly, she turned to look the man with tears in her eyes. "Leslie..."

A trace of disgust flashed across Leslie's eyes. Then, he decided to stop the acting and said with a sullen expression. "I'm telling you, what has happened between Serena and me is just a misunderstanding. You'd better behave yourself and stop being a drama queen. Then, I will forgive you and marry you. Otherwise..."

"Otherwise, what?" Ronnie stubbornly lifted her tear-glowing eyes to look straight at Leslie, "Are you going to kill me or ruin me?"

Her heart was riddled with holes. It was so painful that she could not even breathe.

She had never expected that the man she trusted and loved most would one day betray her in such a cruel manner. Before this day, she had no idea what kind of man he was at all.

After all that had happened, did he still think she was willing to be his wife?

Tamping down the surging pain inside, Ronnie said, "Since you and Serena love each other so much, I'll help you to fulfill your wishes. Why don't you call Dad now and tell him that we are canceling the engagement?"

Having made up her mind to call off the engagement, Ronnie did not want to stay at Leslie's place for one minute. The smell in the air was making her sick.

For fear that Ronnie would let others know about what had happened this day, upon seeing that she was leaving, Serena said nervously, "Leslie, stop her."

Leslie swiftly grabbed Ronnie's wrist and accidentally caught a glimpse of the hickeys on her neck. At the thought that another man had enjoyed her last night, the look in Leslie's eyes grew gloomier.

It was he who had sent Ronnie to President Ward, though it was initially Serena's idea, and it was also he who had asked someone to drug Ronnie. Even so, flames of agitation were surging up in his heart.

He thought that if Ronnie really did not want to have sex with another man, she would keep her innocence even if she had to die for that. And the fact that she had ended up having sex with another man showed that she was floozy by nature.

As the anger in Leslie's heart intensified, the disgust in his eyes also deepened. "What makes you be able to blame me? You must have enjoyed making love to another man last night, am I right?"

Ronnie raised her hand to slam the man in the face, and the crisp sound of the slap echoed in the room.

Leslie tilted his head to one side, and the messy shreds of hair on his forehead covered his eyes, making it impossible to see the look inside.

Ronnie exerted all the strength she could muster, her palms feeling slightly numb, her chest heaving, and her eyes reddening.

She had never expected Leslie to be so vile and sinister. Not only had he had sex with her half-sister, but he had teamed up with Serena to set her up.

Well, Serena was the apple of Wilfred's eye, so of course, marrying Serena would bring him more benefits than marrying Ronnie.

Would he be willing to do anything to achieve his ambitions?

Was it from the beginning that he approached Ronnie with the intent of first pretending to love Ronnie so he could cheat her out of her shares, and then divorcing her and marrying Serena?

"My ignorance blinded me," Ronnie said, gritting her teeth, "Leslie, aren't you afraid that I'll tell the press about this to make you condemned and spat on by everyone?"
