All along the way, I was looking outside the window and I didn't talk at all ..Mr. Tomas didn't talk either, didn't open any conversation,

I didn't work as a secretary before, I don't know what I have to do! What's the nature of this kind of job !...

Anyway a car screeched, we arrived at the grand hotel to meet the other company owners.

MR. Tomas left the car and I followed him. Mr. Carl was at the beginning showing where we should go.. He was the leader that was obvious, he knows everything. But he is not the man in charge here, he didn't control anything, he was just taking care of anything, and I see he was so faithful and loyal...

That thing made me so curious, why does this man treat Mr. Tomas like this ?! What binds them so strongly?!

Why protect him like this ?! For money ?! I don't think so! For god sake, Mr. Carl is so rich too... I know he is not rich as this selfish weird billionaire, but he was still rich!

We walked through the hotel door...

Too many men in formal outfits waiting for Mr. Tomas...

Well! They are not the other company owners! There are some employees working for Mr. Tomas!

All of them welcomed Mr. Tomas, he treated them with much ego... Hey just said, "follow me." ...he Commanded all of us

We all walked to the conference room, with a huge number of chairs and a huge round table ...

Some of the employees sat next to Mr. Tomas and Mr. Carl, and sure next to me, I was at his right side hand, and others were standing at his back, they didn't sit ...or He didn't allow them to have a seat...

Other men from another company were waiting for Mr. Tomas ...

They shook hands and sat ...

"Hello, Mr. Tomas! Long time." A very old man with white hair said to Mr. Tomas with a smile covering his face.

"Sorry for the delay of the contract but something occurred "..Mr. Tomas said to the old man.

"It's okay Mr. Tomas, have you read the contracts yet?" The old man whom they were calling James asked Mr. Tomas.

"Actually, James, I didn't take a look yet .. Give me this contract." Mr. Tomas told Mr. James.

After just seconds from reading the contracts, Mr. Tomas looked so nervous looking, rolling his eyes to the contract and then he threw the contract on the table and hit the table with his hands and stood up.

I was shocked ...

"What's going on?" Mr. Carl asked Mr. Tomas.

"Take a look at the contract Carl to know! These men are wasting my time!" Mr. Tomas shouted.

Mr. Carl took the contract! And the same thing happened! But he looked so angry ...

And he stood up too...

"Let's go!" Mr. Carl ordered the employees.

I rolled my eyes. "Um, um. Mr. Tomas! What's going on?" I asked him in curiosity.

The old man Mr. James started to talk. "Wait for Mr., please! Why do you look so angry ! Give me a reason?" Mr. James asked Mr. Tomas. He looked in the thunderstruck and did his best to stop Mr. Tomas who was fuming in anger.

Mr. Tomas neglected his question and just left the conference room, but I stayed for seconds.

"Mr. James, could you please give me a few minutes to know what's going on with Mr. Tomas ?! Am his private secretary! Could you please?" I asked Mr. James politely.

He looked at his employees and then he nodded his head to me. "Okay, I will wait for an answer from you.". Mr. James accepted.

"Okay, thank you, sir ..." I smiled lightly. And left the conference room hurrying to Mr. Tomas.

"Mr. Tomas? Mr. Carl?" I called both of them.

They froze before leaving the hotel. And turned their heads to me.

"I need an explanation, sir !" I asked Mr. Tomas.

He narrowed his eyes to me .." What?" Mr. Tomas furrowed his brows.

"Yes, my private secretary is not a maid like you have said earlier, so I need an explanation now, I can't let you act like this! This way will destroy your reputation, and no other enterprise will trust to make a combination with you! I'm a journalist and I know what will happen next ... So I need to know your reason to give him an explanation for the rejection!" I told Mr. Tomas...

He crossed his arms and he looked at me ... "I don't care, miss Jennifer !" Mr. Tomas told me. despite his arrogant way of treating others but this time I was sure that he had a reason for that. He wasn't an idiot businessman and my instinct was telling me that something made him cancel the deal. something strong.

"Don't be a hard head mind like this! being stubborn won't help you. Don't be like a year old kid ! Give me an explanation now!" I demanded and stared at him.

I trailed off my words trying to convince him "It's my job to take care of your work, to be honest, and faithful! So please let me do my job.".. I told Mr. Tomas.

"Okay, come with me..." Mr. Tomas said to me in a defeated tone and walked in front of me, I trailed his pace.

"All of you wait for me here in the lobby.." Mr. Tomas commanded the other employees and even Mr. Carl to stay.

I followed him to the pool.

Then he stopped all of a sudden and gazed at me anxiously as if I was nosy not working for him, but I ignored his eyes and focused on my work mission to pull reasons from his mouth "Do you want to know what's wrong with the contract miss Jennifer ?!" Mr. Tomas asked me.

I nodded confidently without thinking twice "Yes sir please.." I blurted out.

he blew a long sigh then started counting on his fingers "First ..he Wants me to retire and fire most of my employees after the combination and hire more experienced and freshly graduated employees ..." he paused.

Then he continued and I just paid attention to his words without interrupting "Second ..he Wants to change the name of this new company, and remove my dad and my family name."

he smirked "Third... I discovered that he is married to my ex-fiance and he will write all his companies by her name so I will have to deal with her, so I will never let this happen, I don't want to see her at all." he paused.

Then he raised an eyebrow and gazed at me "Now, I told you everything, Miss Jennifer, satisfied ?!" Mr. Tomas told me.

I shook my head in disagreeing "Actually no Mr. Tomas! You just told me what annoys you in the contract, but for no reasons! I need a reason!" I told him.

He turned his back to me... Walking .." What Reason Miss Jennifer?"

"Let me ask you, please Mr. Tomas .. Why do you fire and hire new experienced employees? What's your reason ?" and once I finished that question. He turned his body and hollered at me all of sudden "What the hell are you talking about? And how will they live after this? How will they feed their own families? They worked hard for me for years! I can't throw them to an unknown destiny!"

I narrowed my eyes confused "Even if they will make you lose?!" actually I was curious more. His words made me so proud that I was working for him somehow! The man was different than I thought. He really cares about others.

"Yes! I don't care about money! I care about them!" Mr. Tomas told me.

Actually, I was totally surprised. Seriously don't judge a book from his cover! I was glad that I listened to Mr Carl when he asked me to not judge Mr. Tomas' charge so fast without knowing him.

what the hell?! I'm falling for that man so fast?! come back to your senses, Jennifer. you are there just for work.

I gulped nervously "Okay Mr. Tomas.."

I continued asking him "The second question ...Why do you care about the family name and your dad name that much? You will use your name! He didn't ask you to put his own name! He asked you to put Mr. Tomas' name! Tomas companies! So what's your reason ?!"

he groaned "Hell to my name! I care about my dad and my family and I will never change this! My dad! He was the one who started all of this! I just worked hard to make it bigger to put his name on the most of the other companies! To put his name everywhere in the streets!" Mr. James explained to me.

I was like, wow, what is this man for god sake ?! I was thinking in my mind.

I sighed feeling shocked and more relieved because even if those reasons didn't convince the new partners then hell to them but at least that man has a stronger point. "Okay, Mr. Tomas .. 3 rd and last question !..Why don't you make a combination and deal with your ex-fiance?! Are you still in love with her?!"

He laughed hysterically as if I just said a joke or something ...

"Love ?! She's 30 years for god sake and married to James, a very old man! Don't you get it, Jennifer ?!" Mr. Tomas raised an eyebrow challenging me to find an answer.

I rolled my eyes ..looking Deeply into his eyes. "What do you mean Mr. Tomas ?!" I asked him.

he chuckled lightly and stepped closer to me leaving almost no gap between us, "I will tell you a short story about her ..." Mr. Thomas told me.

"Okay Mr., am listening ..." I told Mr. Tomas.

"After the death of my parents I was lonely just concentrating at my work, I was far away from any relationship with a girl ... And suddenly a very pretty girl appeared in my life, tried her best, challenged me. Until I have fallen hard and deeply in her love! She convinced me that she needs me, I protected her. "So you fell in love with her Mr. Tomas for that right ?!" I asked, feeling sorry for him already. The man wasn't heartless as he acted. He was a broken -hearted man. She left him with a shattered heart. Something couldn't be healed or cured that was obvious from his facial expressions.

he nodded and sighed "Yes, but the disaster that happened that day ... I was going to ask her to marry me .." Mr. Tomas smirked as if he remembered something.

"What happened that day Mr. Tomas ?!" I asked him in curiosity ...

"She called me ..to Meet her at the cafe. So I did," he started a flashback in his story...

"you are late Tomas !" She said to me.

"Don't raise your eyebrows Maya to me !" I told her.

"I do whatever I want Tomas!" she pouted her lips talking rudely.

"Hell yeah! Maya"

"Have a seat Tomas .."

"What Maya! In this ugly restaurant ?! It's a poor one!"

"Then take your fucking good taste and classy one and get out Tomas!"

"Or Maya?!"

"Or shut the fuck off and take a chair and sit Tomas !"

"Okay, I accept the next option, Maya!"

"Oh yea, I am so scared I know Tomas !" Maya told me and laughed.

"I don't know why I keep you in my life, Maya!"

Anyway, I controlled my temper and came back to my seat and didn't show anything to her. I was curious. I wanted to know what she wanted from me!"

"So she came and sat ..and Continued her conversation."

"Tomas! I want 10 million dollars!"

he sighed and smiled in broken eyes "And I left her forever Jennifer— Now you have answers for all of your questions.. I didn't talk with anyone about this situation except Carl— He knows everything about me, I can't keep secrets about him.." Mr. Tomas explained to me.

"Then she was deceiving you to take your money after marriage, Mr. Tomas?" I asked him.

"Yes Jennifer, and I discovered after this! That her boyfriend was my best friend ever! So that's why I don't trust anyone. By the way Jennifer — Do you know why I fired you from your job?" Mr. Tomas asked me.

"Why Mr. Tomas?" I was so curious to know actually.

"Because you insulted Carl! He raised me for god sake after the death of my parents! That's why !" Mr. Tomas explained to me.

Actually, I was shocked — He does his best to look like a bad guy but he has a white heart.

I cleared my throat and felt so embarrassed that I thought of him as a bad man, he needed an apology from me for that but I was busy with the business deal "Then Mr. Tomas — We have to sign this contract, I will make them do what we want .. I will convince them to not fire your employees and we could hire some new experienced employees .. And will keep the name of your fathers and family.." I slowly explained my points to Mr. Tomas.

he shook his head rejecting but with a calm tone as if he started to trust me "But no Jennifer, I will never deal with this slut!"

I raised my head and said in a challenging tone "Are you weak Mr. Tomas ?! It's business! She will think that you are afraid to meet her! As you said she is a slut and you have 70 % of these companies, so it's all under your control !" I told Mr. Tomas.

he narrowed his eyes and spaced out for a while then he nodded agreeing finally "Okay Jennifer do you best, I will wait for you here if they accept my conditions I will sign up the contracts.." Mr. Tomas told me.

So I smiled and turned to go to the conference room.

"Jennifer?" he bawled my name, stopping me.

"Yes, Mr. Tomas?"

"Thank you,"  Mr. Tomas said softly to me and smiled.. and I swear to god I felt that my heartbeats raced up. I blushed and rushed back.

I walked sprinting to the conference room, thinking of him! What's going on with me for god sake! This man is amazing! Now I know why all the other women fall for him! I was whispering in my mind —
