Chapter 16 His Wife
"Me?" Johnny sneered calmly, "Why should I lie about anything? Did I put this pile of joss papers in the envelope and frame her?"
"Why is it impossible?" Andrew looked at him coldly, and then changed a question, his eyes filled with doubts, "Actually, I can't even figure out why she would send you joss papers? Could it be that you have offended her? Or you two are familiar enough to play such a joke in front of each other?"
"I..." Johnny was speechless for a moment.
"Uncle, you are really funny." Peggy couldn't help but say, "Who is she and what is her relationship with us? Well, I assume you are very clear about that. Do you have to question Johnny in front of everyone?"
Andrew turned to look at Peggy, looked at her up and down as if he had just discovered such a person, and then said, "So... do you want to tell everyone about the relationship between her and you two? Or do you want to say that you are the woman who stole her boyfriend?"
"You?" Peggy was flushed out of anger but failed to say anything to ask him back.
Aanisah felt very sorry to see this man turn against his family just because of her.
While she was thinking hard about what to do for this man, Warren's voice sounded again.
"Did you send these joss papers?" His voice was low and cold as if he was interrogating a prisoner. His eyes were sharp as an eagle, and he stared directly at Aanisah.
Aanisah's body slightly froze, and she was covered by nervousness once again.
"No!" Andrew said the answer before Aanisah could say anything. His voice was also cold and gloomy. Although his eyes were not so sharp, they were not weak at all, "Even if she is with the least common sense, she wouldn't give Johnny the stuff that was supposed to be sent to the dead. No matter what, Johnny is a junior, so we won't bully the small generation as their elders. Right, honey?"
Honey?
Aanisah almost vomited blood.
But in front of the powerful enemy, she had to put away her personal grievances and join this man to fight. She glanced at Johnny and Peggy, and then calmly said, "Of course! Besides, Peggy is my younger sister. I couldn't even love her more, so how can I curse her, right, Peggy?"
"Younger sister?"
At this time, Warren, Peter and his wife, were all surprised. They looked at Johnny and Peggy incredibly, and even their voices were a little distorted, "Johnny, is this true?"
"That's insane!" Warren's hand slammed toward the desk, "How can an uncle and his nephew wed two sisters at the same time? Won't we be a joke if this spreads out? Andrew, you have to break up with this woman. We can't let that happen!"
Hearing these words, Peggy was relieved instantly and even had a smug smile on her face.
She and Johnny were engaged under the witness of people present, which was accepted by all. So Aanisah would be the one to be driven out of the house by the Wood Family!
Seeing the mocking smile of Peggy, Aanisah had a bad feeling, and then she realized that she had said something wrong on impulse.
She looked at Andrew nervously but found that the man's face was calm.
"If I get divorced for this reason, it will be a real joke!" Andrew turned to look at Warren coolly, "Dad, I think you should discourage Johnny and his fiancée, not me and my wife who have already applied for the marriage certificate!"
Marriage certificate?
Aanisah suddenly turned to look at him, her face full of surprise.
